Helguera a Defender or Midfielder?

But whats the official term for these types of players

naturally he is a defensive midfielder but now hes a central defender.

I'm always a DM. But for the club's sake I'm willing to sacrifice myself as a CD. Things are going better and better it seems. So that is fine. I don't mind. :shades:

I remember the time when he played with Aitor Karanka and Ivan Campo like defender, when we win Valencia in CL with 3-0, he was more than fantastic. From that time i think that Helguera is the best defender in the world, but now i change my mind because now isn't the best

And I think this is the reason why he is not getting a contract extension and why he is complaining about it, he is not going to get the contract he is looking for, if he wants to stay at Madrid, he will have to do it for less.

IMO he was far better as a midfielder than he is as a centre back.
