A number of top clubs in the kpn-telecompetitie are hoping to sign Wim Jonk from Sheffield Wednesday, but he will have to take a dramatic cut in wages to seal a move back to his native country.

Jonk is wanted by his former club and current champions PSV Eindhoven, Heerenveen and Vitesse Arnhem, but none will be prepared to match his current wages, which are reportedly £20,000 a week.

A move to Eindhoven would be an attractive option to the 33-year-old, who played at the Philips Stadion for three years before he joined Wednesday in 1998.

Jonk has been linked with a move back to The Netherlands for some time and new manager Paul Jewell is likely to allow Jonk to Sheffield Wednesday.

Not to PSV

I don't think he will come to PSV, his role is perfectly taken over by Van Bommel. Furthermore Gerets will not buy him since he is too old.
I hope he comes to Vitesse. He's a great player, and Koeman really can use a player like him.

The sponsor of Ajax have asked Arsenal how much Dennis Bergkamp would cost. Ajax had a plan of signing him with together with Wim Jonk. Something similar to last season, brining former players back.

Bergkamp has repeatedly said that he wants to finish his career with Arsenal, so this looks unlikely move, whatever the prizetag.

In the papers was a story that Bergkamp and his manager had a meeting in this week with Ajax. Were this meeting was about was not told but you can dream that it is a meeting about the return of Bergkamp to Ajax.

I also read this article, it sounds quite stupid, ABN AMRO wil pay the money that is needed for the transfer of Bergkamp in return the wan't to do a line of commercial with Bergkamp in the leading role. Also will ABN AMRO pay for the transfer for Jonk so Bergkamp and Jonk will finaly be re-united.

And finally, Ajax is verry intersted in Goor and that the already have been spoken with Anderlecht and Goor and that the deal will be made this week.
