I can't belive what i just heard on ESPN. Landon Donovan came all the back home and actually played today against the Rapids. Talk about commitment. That is a pheat alone. And all those euro players talk about not having any time to rest. Ha try pulling this off

From MLSnet.com -

Donovan came on in the 85th minute only 38 hours since leaving the field in Korea after the United States 1-0 loss to Germany in the Quarterfinals of the World Cup, to a standing ovation from the 10,431 Earthquakes faithful. He almost immediately impacted the game when in the 90th minute, another own goal provided the final scoring for San Jose. Donovan sent a throw-in to DeRosario into the left side of the box. DeRosario sped past Kotschau and to the six-yard box where he tried to lift the ball over an on-coming Kramer. Kramer got his fingers on the ball only to have Kotschau knee it into his own net.

Final score, SJ won 4-0!

With this much heart, in addition to the obvious talent, greatness is in Donovan's future. At least with the national team, but most likely with a major European team in the near future:)

Well, the problem with the Cup in Argentina was that he was playing out of position there.

With a better supporting cast, and the right position, he looked much more impressive;)
