Belgian giants Anderlecht are in the hunt for top Finland international, Hannu Tihinen. Hopefully they will sign him as Tihinen needs to join a bigger club in my opinion. Rangers have also shown interest.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind at all. Viking wouldn't be too much of a problem without him :) He's among the top 5 central defenders in the Norwegian league, and has been Viking key defense player for years now :)

I think Tihinen's contract expires at the end of this season so Viking are in a little hurry to get him sold or he will probably leave for free on Bosman. I would also like to see Tihinen in a bigger club, he has really shown that he can play well with the big boys. There has been interest in him in England and Bundesliga as well so it would be a small disappointment if he moved to Belgium instead. He showed during his loan spell at Hammers that he really is good enough to play in a bigger league. But we've seen that nothing is sure before they have signed the contracts so lets see..

BTW, I must say that Viking have quite a good central defense. Everyone knows Tihi, but Kuivasto has been quite impressive as well when I've seen him play. Against Portugal for example he was substituted to Hyypiä for the second half and you really couldn't tell the difference. He was good in HJK as well, but he has really developed in Norway.

Well, Viking's problem is the two stoppers being too similar. They both have trouble with fast, technical players. Was great fun last year in Stavanger, when Brann's strikers outplayed them.. tunnel kicks in the 5yard box and such :)

Pekka isn't as good as Tihinen, but maybe he'll step out of his shadow if Hannu is sold. But the thing about Viking being in a hurry to sell Tihinen.. his contract ran out last season, he signed a new one so Viking would get money for him being sold. .he'll probably do the same again, rather than become a bosman player. He's a great guy like that.

Yeah, that is true that they are quite similar to each other. Both strong and good in air but not that good on foot. But we have this guy called Heikkinen who would probably be a perfect partner for Kuivasto if they sell Tihinen. I'm not sure if his contract ends after this season, but he could be a good candidate to be the next HJK-player to move to Viking for free  ;) But that was new information for me that Tihinen had signed a new contract after last season. When will we get the players to do the same when they still play in Finland...

Yeah, I know. Three players pulled that stunt on Brann this year. Already lost Karadas, and two more are about to follow. Helstad and Kvisvik.

Helstad and Karadas had both promised to sign new contracts, and were about to according to their agent, but suddenly turned around and wanted to switch clubs instead. Not very nice really.

I heard about this guy aswell. He should be really amazing, and even though it might be a bit far off, I'm really hoping that he'll join us, FC Copenhagen :). I don't know what you'd think about it, but I think it's always great to see the best talent from the Nordic leagues comming to your club, and I don't think it would be impossible.

Well, he's not amazing. Got better stoppers in the Norwegian League, but they are all older :D I'm sure he'll be one of the top names in the future though, at least from a Nordic point of view. Central defenders tend to get better with age.

He's turned down an offer from Portsmouth because he only wants to leave Viking to join a clearly better team and league, so I doubt he'll join FCK.

Well, I surely consider FCK a clearly better team than Viking. And with us playing in at least the UEFA cup next year...? Anyway, we'll see. I said it was far off :).

In the Belgian media it's said Tihinen has agreed with Anderlecht, but both clubs just started negociations. Same goes for another player in the Norvegian league: Clayton Zane.

Markus Heikkinen will be a great player in the future. He has been fantastic for HJK and almost transfered to 'Boro in the EPL. Hopefully he will stay at HJK for as long as possible I think that HJK can become a very big name in Nordic club football in the future.

And Viking won't play int he UEFA cup next year? ;)
I also think FCK is a better team than Viking right now, but not by much. And moving to the Danish league isn't a step up from the Norwegian, it's about the same. Think England, Germany or Belgium are the most likely countries at the moment.

Cool, hope you get them both :) Zane probably isn't good enough for Anderlecht's starting eleven, but wouldn't mind seeing him leave LSK. Maybe they'll be forced to start playing football soon :p

Yeah they're getting a little too big in their heads in FCK. I'm not saying this just because I hate that club, no I'm very serious about it! They think they're as good as any top club in Europe. For instance when the won 2-1 at home to Lazio. They said they were already through and that Lazio where nothing compared to FCK. It's true that FCK is a very atractive club for the better players in Scandinavia, but there's still alot of as competent clubs in Norway, Sweden and Finland.
It would also be a bit stupid with a move to FCK when you're already playing in a good club, which is on the same level. Especially if you want to move to a bigger European club.

So now it's official, Tihinen will move to Anderlecht in June on a five year deal. Also Portsmouth and Everton were after Tihinen, but he chose Anderlecht. The tarnsfer fee is £750000. Also Rosenborg's Finnish left back Janne Saarinen has been linked with a move to Anderlecht.

I think it seems like Anderlecht are specialists in buying the best talents, cheap. They've profitted heavily on f.ex Koller and Radzinski, and they're always milking Ajax for youngsters. Everytime I read the Ajax forum a new topic has been made about some youngster they've snapped up... I like this way. I'd like to see FCK be inspired here, though we're good at it already IMO :).
