Guess who might be back

I read this in France Football. They are everything except a tabloid trying to make wild speculations. Among all the European papers/mag speciallized in football, they are easily among the most reliable and best. I just read on last week's issue of France Football, that there might be an exchange between PSG and Arsenal this off season concerning Sylvain Wiltord going to Paris and Arsenal getting...Nicolas Anelka!!!

Anelka is under contract with PSG until 2007. However, it is quite clear that he will no longer play for Paris because of his clash with PSG coach Fernandez. Currently, Anelka is on loan till the end of the season with Liverpool and Liverpool have an option to buy him for 27.1 M Euros. Since that amount is quite high, Liverpool may be reluctant to buy him and instead they might use that money towards Patrick Kluivert.

Anelka's secret desire is to come back to Arsenal and pair up with Thierry Henry, as during the times of their youth, as they're both from the same team, in Paris' metropole. At first, the public of Highbury might have difficulty to forgive him for what he did before, but he still has good relations with Wenger and his quite close with the French players of Arsenal who may end up being determinant in his choice to come back and help Nico integrate within the team.

So, what do you Gunners fans have to say about this? For or against? Titi-Nico up front can be quite a dangerous partnership! Also, speaking of possible transfers involving French players, France Football also reports that Arsenal are looking for a new keeper for the next season. The Gunners seem to be very interested in Mikael Landreau of Nantes and Ulrich Ramé of Bordeaux. It is also reported that Thuram, who might leave Turin in the off-season, is being chased, not surprisingly, by all of Europe's elite, among them, Arsenal, as AW would love to associate him along Sol Campbell in the centre of the Gunner's defence. That would be awesome!!!So, do you people know more about all this? They are quite good, if they are true, but coming from FF, makes them more credible, definitely...

Henry-Anelka upfront would be awesome!
But if we are going to lose Wiltord in the deal then I don't want it to happen. However it looks increasingly likely that it will happen, with Wiltord wanting to play as a striker and reportedly saying he will move if he is offered to play as a striker.
You mention the Nantes keeper and Rame, well here's another keeper that Arsenal are interestd in;

Real Valladolid keeper Ricardo has admitted that he is flattered by Arsenal's reported interest in him and claimed that if he moves then England would be his preferred destination.

"Arsenal is on the great clubs and it would be wonderful to play with them," he said after it was revealed that the Gunners had made informal enquiries about his availability.

The Premiership squad have had scouts at the Jose Zorrilla on numerous occasions this season and have reportedly been impressed by the 30-year-old's form.

Ricardo's excellent form saw him receive a call-up to the Spain national squad for the friendly against Mexico and Jose Antonio Camacho has said there is a possibiility that he will make the trip to the World Cup Finals.

Atletico Madrid have also expressed an interest in his services, but Ricardo has confessed that a move to the Premiership would be his first choice.

"If Arsenal do make a formal offer then we will see what happens then," he said.

"They are a great club and if I had the choice between staying in Spain or moving to England then I would prefer the latter.

"But until something concrete happens I am fully concentrated on helping Valladolid qualify for the Uefa Cup this season."

I really don't see what is wrong with WrighT :D Seriously though he has done alright for us, he has made a few mistakes, but what keeper hasn't? I don't thnk we need a new keeper.

Although Thuram to Arsenal would be amazing!! We would have one of the best defences in the world, but we would have very stiff competition to sign him!

p.s. I think this thread belongs in the 'Rumours' thread.;)
