I thought I should give this team a thread because after all, a Chinese team winning the Asian Champions League... when was the last time that happened? They've had such a dominant season, domestically and on the continent. I'm actually interested to see how they'll fare in the Club World Cup as they've got some nice players - obviously we know about Conca, Muriqui, Elkeson, but obviously people talk about the [bad] condition of Chinese football, so does Guangzhou have anyone from the homeland that could maybe perform in a top European league? Well, there's a couple I've heard about. One of their CBs whose been compared to Sergio Ramos both in terms of looks and playing style, Zhang Linpeng.

.... and I just read Conca is to leave Guangzhou

He'll probably tear it up in the Brazilian League when he returns even now like he did in his previous spell there.

Good player and his talents were recognised when he was at Flu.

But he is kind of an argie Silva, he lacks some blood, or to be more kind to Silva, he is silky like the spanniard but with Nasri's approach...

Anyway River in the last 20 years has swallowed perfectly capable players, so no news that they have dammaged quite a lots of youngsters carreers

Well he never went over to Europe did he but he was very instrumental in Flu's championship wins and their Libertadores win. He was voted in the top 20 South American players all around the globe one year when he was at Flu which isn't so bad.

Anyhow these Argie journeyman players playing everywhere but Argentina excluding europe's top leagues can be quite interesting. Come Libertadores time you see some of these Argies who are under the radar have a bit of exposure and recognition.

I suppose Guangzhou's wealthy owners will be looking to entice another South American with the big bucks [considering the success they've had with their attacking stars Muriqui and Elkeson etc]. Or if not from SA another player in the mold of Conca.

Lippi's contract expires next year, too.

Conca will probably end up as top assist maker again in his first season back in Brazil come the end of the season and it's no coincidence that Flu are having a good season so far with the return of Conca.

Guangzhou Evergrande are not the team of last season without Conca. They may be leading the Chinese League again this season but they are not on the level of last season's team without Conca.

Yeah, they've already tasted defeat on 3 occasions this season. They only lost once in the whole of last season. If Beijing Guoan win their game in hand, they'll only be a point behind Guangzhou.

I just noticed two of the goalscorers in their loss against Changchun Yatai. Huszti and Gilardino. Good grief.
