Chance for Bradley to impress then in order to get his desired move to the premiership. So far no one's made a bid lol despite him publicly stating he's off this summer

First game of the tournament on Thursday will obviously be important for us. Our midfield should however win the battle against the Nigerians.

Scary group. :scared:

Naturally one would pick Nigeria and the Netherlands to go through, but I think any side can make it. Don't know a whole lot about Japan though I've heard Yasuhito Endo is decent and of course there is the starlet Morimoto.

My preferred USA lineup:

Altidore-McBride
Adu------------------Rogers
Edu-Kljestan
Sturgis-Orozco-Parkhurst-Wynne
Guzan

Holland are dark horses. USA have a decent team too. I predict those two to qualify.

anything but a win for the US in their opening match will be a bad result in terms of moving on to the next round. Not thrilled with the over-aged players except for Guzan, but this is a similar team which did so well in the U20 World Cup in Canada

The Dutch line-up:

Vermeer

Zuiverloon, Marcellis, Jaliens, Jong-A-Pin

De Guzman, Sno, Emanuelson, Drenthe

Makaay, Babel.

Expectation is that we'll be playing on the counter too.

Wally, wasn't Maduro playing in stead of Sno? Redhat, it remains to be seen if we're able to keep up with them physically. Our friendlies didn't start of that good but the friendly tournament we played last week was ok.

Like in previous campaigns they started poorly in the first couple of friendlies but have gradually improved.

Expected us to win today against the Nigerians but in the end we were fortunate to come away with a draw. Decent first half from us, 2nd we needed Vermeer to make a couple of good saves.

Apart from the overreaction from the ref for Sno's red card (have the refs been given a directive or something to wave them for fun or something seeing the Brazil game? ) I thought the Chilean ref did well too.

Well, a below average US performance, but an absolutely crucial win, so I'm satisfied. Its gonna be tough from here on out to get points so we will need to step up the level of performance.
