George Best by far and Duncan Edwards could've been in the same class had his life not ended prematurely.andrew4soccer said:Best no doubt, although Rooney is on his way and Cantona was stunning to watch
there was more to it than that. The league back in the 60s was more or less equal to anything going on in the continent, and as such there wasn't such a divide to summount as there was when the ban was lifted and we were back in European competition. Best was brilliant, no question, one of the best 3 of all time, but Cantona was pretty bloody good too. In the early 90s, we were off the pace big style to the Spanish and Italian game, and we couldn't play our full team. If we had been able to play our full team, I do believe that Cantona would have lifted the European cup and would have been rightly regarded as one of the best of all time, which he is anyway to United fans.Jern Lizardhous said:Puma , you weren't the best team in England when Best first started playing but within a few years you were the best in Europe, something Cantona never achieved.
anyway it's ridiculous, Cantona was great but he didn't have the X factor of Best who utterly destroyes teams on his own.
