WC in 4 days. Best of luck to both teams. You've got my support (as well as Ghana, Togo, and Angola). ISA we'll see good performances and, more importantly, results. :strong:

Perhaps we can discuss general WC stuff here.

Cool...the official Arab countries in World Cup thread :D

I'm still quite upset at the fact that both of them were pitted in the same group

The match takes place on the 14th of June. Any predictions shabeb w sabaya?

This one's a real tough one to predict. I'll have a look at the squads and get back to you on it.

Yeah, i'd love for at least one of the teams to have a decent run, also to kick the teeth in of all the Euro snobs here. I have higher hopes for Tunisia though...

Sounds like a good idea to discuss the other teams too, the WC forum is probably going to have an absurd amount of activity during the tournament, it'll be easier to discuss stuff here.

Not gonna happen. :D

Thanks Sabry,

It is a shame that both teams are in the same group, but I guess in a way it is a good first game for both teams since it is a derby in which either team can win. So I hope whoever wins use the confidence boost to kick on and have a good tournament. Obviously I hope it is Saudi, but I'll cheer for the Tunisians if our team shows up in "Mr Hyde" mode.

Actually Saudi's inconsistency makes me more anxious about the tournament than excited. I'm really keen on our team shutting some people up but I don't have confidence in them performing like they can when WC begins.

Why not IC Sabry?

I think Tunisia has a better chance of making a decent impact than Saudi Arabia. Saudi's played lots of freindlies and I have watched them all, the team lacks everything to be honest. In their game against Togo I was like are those two teams participating in the WC for real!

To be honest, after I have watched Ukraine and Spain playing, I think Ukriane and Tunisia have a great chance of advancing to the next stage.

For many reasons. Mainly because of Henri Michel and Drogba.

They trash talked every team they've played in the ACN (Morocco, Libya, Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria).

They openly doubted Egypt will play a fair game against Cameroon on the last matchday of the WCQ. And when Egypt got the tie in Yaounde, they did not even say thanks, let alone apologize for their pre-match interviews.

Even after their penalty shootout win against Cameroon, one of their players (I don't remember who, but maybe Zokora) went up to Eto'o and kept pointing and jumping around him.

I have no respect for this arrogant team.

But thats not the main issue here.

Good. Then you can cheer for Argentina against them :D I think they are overrated to be honest and arrogant ****s! Micheal and Dogba are not exactly the sharpest knifes on the shelf when it comes to comments. You just cannot take them seriousely at all.

I hope Argentina trash them like 3-0 and even a bigger margin to punish them for their arrogance.

It was Fae who was jumping and dancing around Eto and the Camerouni team. It was disgusting and I thought that the CAF will punish him for such appalling manners but that did not happen.

Saudis are saying that the match against Tunisia will have strong impact on their future.

The only impact I can see is that their coach getting fired all over again :depress:

I'll be rooting for the Carthage eagles eventhough I'm not exactly their biggest admirer out there. But it's for the good of Africa  , so I hope they do well and go places.

I'm still pretty disappointed that the Moroccans didn't make it. :frownani:

They have more exciting players than Tunisia and probably would've done better in Germany, alas...

Prediction - A boring draw, with a player sent-off from each team after a brawl midway through the second half. My picks are Bouazizi and Nour after a physical midfield battle. The latter loses his nerves after a tough tackle by Riadh and an exchange of fists takes place.

I thought Drogba thanked us in public, Kolo Toure as well.

I don't know, Drogba doesn't come out as an arrogant sob to me. Seems like a cool guy.

Look how he leads his team man, he's on his way to legendary status if you ask me. :star:

Heard a rumor that Paquita submitted his resignation today! Not sure how authentic that rumor is.. but wouldn't be surprised..

Although, we usually fire coaches :yuck:
