His club just won the Championship for the first time in over 2 decades. His club, and a defense he was the leader of, allowed less than a goal/game and from all match reports Gooch was solid all year. He's like to be on the Jupiler League Best XI, again.

He didn't even lead his own club in cards for christ sakes. :lol:

Gooch has also improved his play, since 2006, on the National Team as well.

He's really rebounded this season after a mediocre season at best last year. I'd like to see Gooch stay at Standard to play in the Champions League.

And it's nice to see someone other than Anderlecht and Club Brugges win the title.
