so this is the first time in more than 100 years when golf is played in Olympics. last time was 1904 when a Canadian named George Lyon won the event. back then there was also a team event, but not this time.

The Rio tourney will of course be very different from any major, as the max amount of Americans participating will be 4. So we might see medal winners from exotic golf nations.

Another thing which makes this one unique is that there will be playoffs in case of a tie on any medal position...and there almost certainly will be ties in top 3...so don't be surprised if there's a 5-man playoff for determining the bronze or smth.

Final round today.

Looks like the first golf gold in +110 years is going to Europe: Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson are leading...Aussie Fraser might have a chance too.
