this is finally the year....

germany won the world cup, its over..
and no i a not jinxing..but its obvious
Do you think it's due to Pep though, of course he was in charge of Barcelona when Spain were dominating but they won one Euros before him. Now in charge of Bayern and Germany are on the brink of a World Cup. The team and play was something that Heynckes would field though.

Yes, there is something of guardiola. The unselfish passing in front of goal by the german players .. some of the plays by german team were guardiola textbook.

I wouldnt credit guardiola all for it, or hype him at all ... but there is sthg of him.

Its obvious guardiola builds teams long term, he is a visionary..

Nah.

Not that I'm saying Guardiola had no influence over Spain's 2010 and 2012 successes. But before him Aragones proved what Spain was capable of. Also 2008 version was the best IMO among cup winning Spain NTs.

Last night, Löw's game plan was more of a Heynckes approach. Played Lahm as RB again. They were a lot more quicker on the attack, their build-up speed a lot higher compared to Tiki-Taka. And thanks to that, they exploited Brazil's weak points at the maximum.

Are you kidding me?

They looked pretty much like Heyneckes Bayern (besides the obvious of no false 9 and Lahm playing where he does most damage). Quick, merciless, in possession, but they didnt stand around worshipping their possession average, they just went to work with urgency and purpose, and in numbers.

Don't see what about yesterday was Pep like, and it was at least partly poor opposition that made it happen anyway. If you are going to credit the passing to a coach I think it is wrong, the Brazil defensive structure and set up yesterday didn't need some genius coaching to overcome, the players were quick to notice and easily took advantage. The first goal showed anybody that Brazil were not ready to defend collectively and cover for each other.

Go back to jinxing full time, please.

Guardiola didn't invent passing the ball. If you had bothered to watch the statistics you would see that Germany didn't even dominate possession in this game.

The passes in front of goal instead of shooting was more a result of Brazil's complete collapse.
