I saw the same thread in the Croatian forum, and thought it might be a good idea.

If we could get a few of us together to meet up for drinks and some Cevapi it would be pretty cool. Anytime between July to August 25th or so is good for me.

Would anyone else be down for this? Best place would be Sarajevo of course, any other ideas?

Chill MC

It's hard to gather everbody because:

1. Some people here won't go this year
2. Those who will be in BiH might not be there at the same time
3. All people aren't in Sarajevo, some people are in Krajina other in Hercegovina etc

Yeah, the rest of us not going to the same city at the same time as you do really make this forum suck.
Next, it'll be that this forum sucks because I couldn't:

*meet my life partner here
*figure out how to make a million euros in a year :greed:
*recreate the Swiss big-bang experiment online :cap:

It's a slippery slope...:smileani:

And I might be in BIH but more like Sept-Oct. Most of my money is tied into my home..so until I sell that..not a lot of extra money to go to BIH.

Hows the idea of you and your brother moving back to BiH going? I´ve been thinking a lot about doing the same thing for the last couple of years but has yet to come up with a sustainable idea of what to develope/do for a living.

What would you guys be looking to do? Start businesses, or are you looking for a salaried position?

There is probably a big gap in the BiH market for specialised products and services of all kinds. Maybe you can import something from your current place of residence, or produce a similar or better product in BiH?

That's not the reason really. It's the unwillingness to even reply. Of course everyone replies when I call you fags.

I'm not going to Sarajevo, i might be there for a few days, but it's not likely. The reason I said Sarajevo is because it's pretty much in the center, and it's not really a long distance from any place in BiH. It can't be more then a 2 hour ride from anywhere in BiH to Sarajevo.

If you look at the Croatian forum, sure they have more people, but they are still willing to make things work, and get together.

Only Sarajevo-Tuzla is 3 hours.
I'm using a driving direction planner..... Here are some distances and times..

Mostar - Banja Luka 132 miles, 03:26 h
Tuzla - Sarajevo 70 miles, 01:50 h
Bihac - Sarajevo 183 miles, 04:50 h
Mostar - Sarajevo 77 miles, 02:01 h
Doboj - Sarajevo 96 miles, 02:26 h

If you were staying in Bihac or Krajina, then it would take you a little longer then everyone else. Other then that it would take around 2-3 hours to get to Sarajevo from major cities.

Trust me, it's fking exhausting. Only 120km but the road is bad and on many places it's 40km/h only, not unusual that you get stuck behind a slow ass truck aswell.

That is still the plan. We are not rushing, but by the time I am thirty, the plan is to move back. I am 24..turning 25 at the end of the year. So we have given ourself about five years.

I will have completed my undergrad soon, so I think I can get a pretty good job over there if the employment situation was more ideal. (but I'm not counting on that) Frankly, I can't get the job I want over here, so I definetley don't expect it there. I have too many friends that are having trouble without getting additional schooling. That isn't to say that I can't get a good job with a fair wage while sitting on my ass. But I guess that just wouldn't be me.

My brother and I have always wanted to start a restaurant. As Monte points out, we feel there is room to develop in multiple areas. (whether it be dining, entertainment, etc) There are countless cities that can use more development, variety, and jobs. Canada is already highly developed..coming up with a unique concept would be difficult since everything exists..though i guess there is the option of opening the 27th shawarma place on my street.

I would say I'm a pretty independent and adventurous person..so I don't see roadblocks to the plan. I don't plan on having kids (which is a roadblock to many wanting to go back - for me its partly due to my sexuality (though its possible these days..partly because I've never really considered it seriously)

Next few (3 to 5) years will be about hard work and saving up additional money on top of what will get on the house sale.

It's true that the roads suck...
I was going to Sarajevo from Tesanj, and when we got close to Sarajevo my Uncle started going faster, either 120km, or 160km, im not sure..

Thing is, the Golf was shaking haha, i didn't know if it was the car, or the road.

It would still be cool if a few of us could get together and spend some time in Bascarsija, and the rest of Sarajevo.
