Constantin Galca is finally set to end one of the most protracted transfer tales of all time by deciding upon his future on Monday.
The Espanyol midfielder is believed to have four options now that he is a free agent - one of which is staying with the Barcelona-based club. The other offers are from Celta Vigo, Napoli and Tottenham, who have reportedly made a late bid in the wake of his sterling performances in Euro 2000.

After impressing against England, the Romanian international shone in the defeat against Italy, and the fact that his present contract expired on 30 June, makes him an attractive free transfer proposition.

Galca's desire has been to stay with Espanyol, who have tabled a five-year deal, but more lucrative offers lie elsewhere, with Spurs rumoured to be ready to pay him £6 million on a bumper contract at White Hart Lane.

Following negotiations with his representatives on Monday, Galca will make his long-awaited decision on his future.

As for other reported Euro 2000 targets for Spurs, Emile Mpenza appears bound for Newcastle, while Sunderland have lost interest in his Belgian team-mate Bart Goor.

The Anderlecht winger, believed to be on a list of possible replacements for David Ginola, had been the subject of talks involving Sunderland, but Peter Reid stated: "We won't be following up our interest in Goor."

It's reported he wants to remain in Spain. Real Betis have made an offer, but it's still to see wether or not he fancy's playing in the second division, and add to that, Betis's offer is much much lower compared to the salaray Tottenham are willing to pay him.
