English champions Manchester United have been stunned to find out they face a potentially explosive fixture with Galatasaray in a pre-season tournament in Germany later this summer.

United had been expected to take on Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Real Madrid in a mouthwatering four-team competition to mark the German giants' centennial celebrations on August 4-5.

But AC Milan have been forced to withdraw from the tournament because of their involvement in Champions League qualifying matches, and UEFA Cup winners Galatasaray will replace them in a potentially explosive fixture with the English champions.

The Turkish club beat Arsenal to claim the Cup last month, but the final and the two-legged semi-final against Leeds were overshadowed by trouble between rival fans after two supporters of the Yorkshire side were murdered in Istanbul.

I read somewhere that because of that situation with Galatasaray and otehr English teams that Manchester United is planning to withdraw from the tournament, to avoid clashes with Turkish supporters obviously.
