EGYPT vs ARGENTINA
Cairo Int'l Stadium | March 26, 2008 | 20:00 (EET)

Argentina arrives in Cairo on March 24th to face the newly crowned African Champions Egypt for an exhibition game.

The biggest addition to the Albiceleste is Fernando Cavenaghi (Bordeaux, France), who leads French club Bordeaux with 16 goals this season. Also Lisandro Lopez (Porto, Portugal) is called up.

The biggest absences would be of Lionel Messi (Barcelona, Spain) who tore a thigh muscle in a European Champions League match March 5, and Carlos Tevez (Manchester United, England) who requested a rest. Hernan Crespo (Inter Milan, Italy) who limped off with a slight injury from Saturday's Italian league game was likewise not summoned.

The clash with Egypt is another tuneup match ahead of the June resumption of World Cup qualifying en route to South Africa 2010.

Roster:
Goalkeepers: Roberto Abbondanzieri (Getafe, Spain), Oscar Ustari (Getafe, Spain), Sergio Romero (AZ Alkmaar, Netherlands).

Defense: Gabriel Milito (Barcelona, Spain), Gabriel Heinze (Real Madrid, Spain), Martin Demichelis (Bayern Munich, Germany), Pablo Zabaleta (Espanyol, Spain), Nicolas Burdisso (Inter Milan, Italy), Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan, Italy), Fabricio Coloccini (Deportivo La Coruna, Spain).

Midfield: Maximiliano Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid, Spain), Fernando Gago (Real Madrid, Spain), Javier Mascherano (Liverpool, England), Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan, Italy), Luis Gonzalez (Porto, Portugal).

Forwards: Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid, Spain), Julio Cruz (Inter Milan, Italy), Lisandro Lopez (Porto, Portugal), Fernando Cavenaghi (Bordeaux, France), Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli, Italy).

Coloccini is a proven crap.
Finally, they have forgotten players like Crespo, thanks to his most miserable contribution for his club.
Also, happy that Tevez is being left out.
Cruz??? He was not called up when he was doing well in the first of this season and now that he is back to his original mediocre level, he is called. Great common sense here.
Really happy for Cavenaghi and Lisandro Lopez. Hope this not a one off call up.

Alright fine nice to see Cave there and Lavezzi, but whats with that midfield ? how many number 5's do we need Gago, Masche and Cambiasso and only one quote ofensive midfielder in lucho, maxi is a good pick but I think it shows how we're light on ofensive minded guys like Roman. we should go with 3 fowards in this game to compansate.

Argentina written in Arabic alphabet looks just amazing!

Damn, I would have paid 1000 L.E to watch it!

I expect a 2-1 win for Argentina though.
