Yesterday I visited Saint-Amand's home game versus Dinsheim. They won 5-2 but I guess they're a bit disappointed with their draw.

Don't see a real derby or am I missing one?

There is barely one or two division between Saint-Amand and their opponents. Maybe they can do it.

Indeed, i have not seen any derby. The draw was supposed to be divided in severals area though.

Wow, that's an experience. What are your thoughts about the game? What was the attendance? Why were you here?
And last but not least: where is Saint-Amand? :D

Vannes will be playing Monaco, I may go if I have the opportunity. It will definitely be a great game, even though the Cup is definitely no priority for them at the moment :( unfortunately...

By the way, I see a loooot of teams from Bretagne in this draw, is it just me or Bretagne football is doing great in Cup this year? :)

P.S.: this is my 1,000th post, wooow! Bring on girls & champagne ;)

Well I like watching football abroad, no matter if it's non-league or professional. Try to mix it a bit. On Saturday evening we visited a match in the south of Belgium where after I decided to stay the night in Mons and watch the cup match in Saint-Amand on Sunday, although I didn't have any clue what to expect. Saint Amand is close to Valenciennes so I was with the ch'tis last Sunday.

It was absolutely a great experience. About 1600 people turned up, at least 500 of them came from Dinsheim, which is in the Alsace, about 500 kms away from Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. The most important visitor from the Alsace was a donkey! The supporters took the mascot into the stadium, although he didn't bring luck :D.

The game was very exciting. Saint-Amand did beat Le Havre in the previous round, after they were eliminated in the same round by Le Havre one year before in 2012. They took great revenge :D.
As it could be a historical match the players looked a bit nervous and because of that Dinsheim twice took the lead which resulted in a 1-2 half time score.
In the second half Saint-Amand couldn't be stopped and won deserved 5-2. The 3-2 was a great bycicle kick, unbelievable goal. Hope it's somewhere on the internet but I didn't see cameras...

It was a great day out with the ch'tis, nice people and Saint-Amand is a nice town.

Oh, congrats with your 1000th post! :D

Man, this is such an awesome photo-reporting :) the donkey is just fantastic, how the hell did they manage to bring him all the way from Alsace!!? :D

Looks like a great afternoon :) and now I know where is Saint-Amand located :D

P.S.: Arent't you the one who posted a great photo-report from games played in Slovakia (including Trencin) like 1 or 2 years ago? I think you are :) I loved your photos and still remember them very well!

Probably, yes, thanks!

Ok, their mascot if the dragon, right ?:shakepalm:
Lol, I didn't notice any mascot from the home side :).

On the other hand, this was on the back of their bar. I think those animals are foxes while they've got indeed a dragon in their logo, that confused me a bit (too).

Guingamp, Angers and hopefully Rennes: the Western side of France is on fire. I'd love a Guingamp-Rennes final, just like in 2009, with Breizh flags all over the Stade de France :)
