Zeu 23 to face Albania and Andorra. At home, Stade de France.

Gardiens
Alphonse Areola (PSG)
Hugo Lloris (Tottenham)
Mike Maignan (Lille).

Défenseurs
Léo Dubois (Lyon)
Benjamin Pavard (Bayern Munich)
Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City)
Clément Lenglet (FC Barcelone)
Raphaël Varane (Real Madrid)
Kurt Zouma (Chelsea)
Lucas Digne (Everton)
Lucas Hernandez (Bayern Munich).

Milieux
Blaise Matuidi (Juventus Turin)
Steven Nzonzi (Galatasaray)
Paul Pogba (Manchester United)
Moussa Sissoko (Tottenham)
Corentin Tolisso (Bayern Munich)

Attaquants
Wissam Ben Yedder (AS Monaco)
Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich)
Nabil Fekir (Bétis Séville)
Olivier Giroud (Chelsea)
Antoine Griezmann (FC Barcelone)
Thomas Lemar (Atlético Madrid)
Jonathan Ikoné (Lille).

Coman's back in the group. Ikoné's first.
Kanté's missing. N'Zonzi (Galat) and Sissoko are still there. Matuidi too. Looks like Tolisso is not injured anymore.
Probably we'll see more of Laporte and/ or Lenglet.
Dubois is the lone true RB. Pavard doesn't perform well anymore at this position, this since a long time. So let's see. Zouma is another solution at this position of right back even though primarly a CB. Let's see.
This is the first of Fékir now as a Betis player and Ben Yedder (Monaco now) is the only "most goal-scoring type" in the absence of Mbappé. Griezmann shown some efficiency with his new club Barça lately too, and took his responsabilities there too whilst Messi and Suarez were sitting in the bleachers (Barça-Betis, 5-2, Griez 2x, Fékir 1, the opener).

Not selected : GK's Mandanda (OM, looks like the end) and Lecomte (former Montpellier and now Monaco). Umtiti (Barça)... Lacazette (Arsenal), Haller (former Frankfurt, now West Ham), Ferland Mendy (former OL, now Real), Dembélé (Barça, it seems that they want to get rid of him). No Martial (Man U). No N'Dombélé (former OL, now Spurs). No Mousa Dembelé (CF, OL).

And for the moment, but only for the moment, no Eduaaarrdoooo Camaaaavingaaaa!!

Also, here is the U21 list for September 2019 :

Gardiens : Dimitry Bertaud (Montpellier), Alban Lafont (Nantes), Gaëtan Poussin (Bordeaux)

Défenseurs : Kelvin Amian (Toulouse), Rayan Aït-Nouri (Angers), Nicolas Cozza (Montpellier), Colin Dagba (PSG), Boubacar Kamara (OM), Ibrahima Konaté (Leipzig), Evan Ndicka (Francfort), Dan-Axel Zagadou (Dortmund)

Milieux : Houssem Aouar (Lyon), Antoine Bernède (Salzbourg), Mattéo Guendouzi (Arsenal), Imran Louza (Nantes), Jeff-Reine Adelaïde (Lyon), Boubakary Soumaré (Lille)

Attaquants : Moussa Diaby (Leverkusen), Amine Gouiri (Lyon), Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford), Odsonne Edouard (Celtic)

Players who formerly played in this category (at the last Euro at least) were Tousart (Lyon), Del Castillo (Rennes), Ikoné now in the A-team... Bamba (ST, Lille), Mateta (ST, Mainz), Ibrahima Sissoko (MF, Strasbourg), Marcus Thuram (ST, Guingamp), Ntcham (Celtic, ST).

DF's Caci (Strasbourg), Niakhaté (Mainz), Upamecano (Leipzig), Ballo-Touré (Monaco) and Malenga Sarr (Nice) are not eligible anymore.
As a reminder, in that Euro 2019 U21, France got eliminated by Spain in the semis (4-1).

Ice v Mol : 3-0
Fra v Alb : 4-1 (Coman, Giroud, Coman and Ikoné for his first match, coming from the bench)
Tur v And : 1-0

Alb v Ice : 4-2
Fra v And : 3-0 (Coman, Lenglet, Ben Yedder '91)
Mol v Tur : 0-4

1. Turkey 15 pts 5-0-1 14-2 +12 (1st becoz of the head-to-head, 2-0 for Turkey in Turkey as a reminder)
2. France 15 pts 5-0-1 19-4 +15
3. Iceland 12 pts 4-0-2 10-9 +1
4. Albania 9 pts 3-0-3 10-9 +1
5. Moldova 3 pts 1-0-5 2-17 -15
6. Andorra 0 pts 0-0-6 0-14 -14

Scorers : Cenk Tosun, 4. Cikalleshi, Coman, Giroud, Mbappé, 3. Coman did the job in the absence of Mbappé. Ikoné as well, instead of O. Dembélé.

Dubois did not convince against Andorra (right back) and Pavard has no concurrence for the moment. Looking forward to see Dagba in the CL with PSG. Zouma is a CB who, in theory, can play on the right too.

Thauvin (OM) is out until the end of the (calendar) year. Ankle surgery.

As Lloris is injured, Mandanda will be the number 1 GK in Iceland. The Marseillais who was not selected for the two last games, was initialy called back as the #2. The two other keepers are Areola and Maignan who is the replacement for Lloris. He was lately part of the squad but left aside when the new list was first announced.

The injury of Dubois means the come-back of Sidibé (on loan at Everton this season).

Mbappe was part of the group that prepares the two upcoming matches but, after a test at the beginning of the week, he is finally replaced by Plea, as injured again/ still injured (perhap his comeback in club was rushed, surely even).

Captain of Iceland Aron Gunnarsson will be missing through injury (ankle).

Lucas Hernandez, tested like Mbappe last Monday, is well selected in spite of Bayern's discontent, them who wanted to keep their player who's just back from injury and still is not "at 100%". The other LB is Digne.

Kante is back as well as Ndombele. Pogba is not. "Veterans" Sissoko and Matuidi are here. Tolisso too. As for the midfielders. In defense, it's the comeback of Kimpembe too (CB, LB...), World Champion like Sidibe.

In attack, Ikoné is called-up again as he's doing well these days (contrarily to Dembele who was sent-off with Barça lately, by the way).

Well, here it is : Areola, Maignan, Mandanda. Pavard, Sidibe, Hernandez, Digne, Varane, Lenglet, Zouma, Kimpembe. Kante, Matudi, Sissoko, Ndombele, Tolisso. Griezmann, Giroud, Coman, Ikone, Lemar, Ben Yedder, Plea.

Iceland v France on Friday. Then France v Turkey next Monday, on the 14th of October. The two next games will be decisive, starting with the first one, first.

The technical leader of France, Griezmann, has ups and down since the start of the season with Barça and missed two pk's lately, as already said in the thread.

There's really no guarantees for these two matches wich can appear as the final stretch.

Whatever happens, the schedule seems to be slightly in favor of France though, as their two remaining games will be Moldova (H) and Albania (A) whilst Turkey will receive Iceland, then play in Andorra. The last game of Iceland will be in Moldova.

Again, here are the tiebreakers.
