Sponsorship money and image rights which they keep to themselves.

For example Henry is the highest paid player but Messi has become a bigger name and gets paid a lot by adidas.

How Mourinho and Capello got paid that much.. we will never know.

I think they're taking into account the compensation they got from their previous clubs for ending their contracts early.

Well Jol is currently unemployed and he's on there so must be showing severance pay.

I'm guessing they've already taken into accound Ronaldo's new contract. Are the player figures just based on club salary or total?

erie A slides down rich list
Tuesday 8 April, 2008

A study by France Football has revealed that Serie A’s stars are not amongst the top earners in the world.

For the first time in the history of the survey, which also takes into account money earned through sponsorship, there wasn’t an Italian-based player in the top seven.

David Beckham of Los Angeles Galaxy leads the way, followed by Milan target Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry.

The top earner from Serie A, ironically, is Ronaldo of Milan, who is pocketing £10.7m annually, despite his career-threatening injury.

FIFA World Player of the Year Kaka is just ninth with £10.3m with Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero the highest earning Italian at £8.8m.

Azzurri skipper Fabio Cannavaro is 11th with £8.6m and Francesco Totti – £7.8m – and Luca Toni – £6.7m – are 18th and 20th respectively in the hierarchy.

Fabio Capello is the second wealthiest Coach behind former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, with Roberto Mancini’s £4m per year at Inter putting him ninth.

lol.

I bet Finnan takes more then that figure. :D
I doubt it read he gets 35k besides he would deserve every penny a model professional.

Riise gets 50k:wallbang:
Voronin gets 45k:wallbang::wallbang:
Kewell gets 65k:wallbang::wallbang::wallbang:

They should make me hand out the wages a lot of players would get wages reflecting on their ability.

I hope to god you don't get this leech playing for you and he says he is a Liverpool fan:wallbang:

He owes so much to the club he should play for free for atleast a season seeing as we have been paying his disability payments for 3 years.

Should this deal go through you need to sack the board and the manager.

yeah but people are making it out to be as if he deliberately is injuring himself, which is just wrong imo.

Ronaldo gets payed all that and hardly plays a game at Milan and now will not play anymore... I know he was a great player and even when he played at Milan he did well, but what were the management thinking with him?

Apart from that Im glad Serie A doesnt overspend anymore and become too broke, some clubs have smartened up a bit.. mainly because they had too... Im sure you can still make a great squad even if you do not overspend on wages (in relation to that list).

This season Id say only 3 players have deserved the amount they earn on that list. Messi, Gerrard and C.Ron... I also think it is true that once a player receives a high wage, is form does dip... unless he already has strong ties to the club (like Gerrard, maybe Terry, Totti).

:wallbang::wallbang::wallbang: Even worse is that everyone knew what would eventually happen when buying him (and putting him as our first choice striker :wallbang: ). And Ancelotti isn't in the top 10 of richest coaches?
