FIFA Player of the Year Ronaldinho and European player of the year Andriy Shevchenko head a list of 52 players invited to play in a charity match next month to raise money for victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami, FIFA said.

The FC Barcelona midfielder and AC Milan striker will captain the two sides that will include Brazil's Ronaldo, England's David Beckham, and Frenchman Zinedine Zidane of Real Madrid, Germany's Michael Ballack of Bayern Munich and Italy's Francesco Totti of AS Roma.

Also among them is Blackburn's Socceroos midfielder Brett Emerton, who has been selected for Ronaldinho's XI.

Marcello Lippi of the Italian national team and Arsene Wenger of England's Arsenal will coach the 'Shevchenko XI' while Brazilian national team manager Carlos Alberto Parreira and Barcelona's Frank Rijkaard will lead the 'Ronaldinho XI' for the February 15 'Football for Hope' match at Barcelona's Nouc Camp.

Among the others invited, from the English Premier League, are Ivory Coast's Didier Drogba of Chelsea, England's Steven Gerrard of Liverpool, and Frenchmen Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira of Arsenal, while those requested from the Italian Serie A included league scoring leader Adriano of Inter Milan, and AC Milan's Kaka, Paolo Maldini and Dutch defender Jaap Stam.

All the players compete for European clubs, apart from retired Italian great Roberto Baggio.

Ticketing details will be confirmed as soon as possible, FIFA said. All proceeds from the 'Football for Hope' match will be donated to the Tsunami Solidarity Fund set up by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

Shevcanko looks the better team to me.

Hmm.. Ronaldinho's team is a mix of South Americans and non-Europeans, Sheva's of Europeans. Of course, the result is immaterial. These matches usually end in a 4-4 draw.
