On HFBoards they say no way, until Finland is a legit contender in ice hockey it won't be overtaken
Football has a lot of potential among the young:

EURO 2016: "In Finland, despite the national team The Eagle Owls being absent from the competition, 73% of viewers watched the final. The figure is even more impressive among the young population, where 87% of 15-34s watched the game either live or on catch-up online." Ofc, hockey is not going away either with its success.

So, there was Urheilugaala in January.

Team of the year: Football national team
Coach of the year: Markku Kanerva (of football national team)
The athlete of the year: Teemu Pukki
The most exhilarating sporting moment of the year: Finland beating Liechtenstein and making it to the Euro (this was voted by the people, other categories by sport journalists)

And all this in a year, where ice hockey team achieved a very surprising gold, as did the ice hockey junior NT.

Pohjanpalo has already scored twice for HSV in 60 minutes of playing time.

The strikers won't be our downfall come summer.
