:howler:

I could make a very similar statement in regards to Raul :) .
That's an outrage! Afterall what he has done for Real, I can't understand how you can wish for Raul to sit out a couple of games. Besides the georgeus wife, adoration by hoardes of fans and millions still rollin' in, what does he have left?

Gaza children move over, we have a new victim in town.

uve doctor under pressure
Wednesday 4 February, 2009
Juventus club doctor Riccardo Agricola could be facing the sack as the Old Lady's injury woes continue.

The Bianconeri have suffered more than their fair share of injuries this season and a plethora of stars have been out of action for significant periods.

According to La Stampa, the Turin giants are ready to point the finger at club medic Agricola.

The paper claims that sporting director Alessio Secco and chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc are discussing a possible replacement for Agricola.

The doctor has been at the club since the beginning of the 1990s but his days at Vinovo could be numbered.

-------------

About ****ing time, medical staff cant be the only reason, training methods too, but the whole ****ing season, and having to put with massive amount of injuries that keep reoccuring, time to dish out some frigging consequences and demand competence.

i'm sceptical. if Agricola is an incompetent doctor, the incompetence would have been noticed alot earlier. not 20 years..... to me that doesn't make any sense

could there be other incompetent areas in our dear club ?

could it be coaching staff? how about our manager? what do they do in training? how's their training methods? i don't know, but what they don't seem to do is to play football!

last two years we've suffered alot of injuries. what happened in these two years? something that springs to mind: new manager and coaching team

That's what I'm thinking.

Well let's first discern between those who have been surprisingly injured and those who have been consistently over the last couple of seasons.

Camo, CZ, Trezz, Legro, have all usually been injury prone before, and it's no surprise that as they're aging they're also getting more injury prone and taking longer to recover. This is something the management have to look seriously into, we really cannot rely on CZ as a starter if he is barely going to play all season due to injuries. The same can be said of Camo, and it's really hurting us because he is such an integral player.

Where something is suspect is when it comes to the other players, Poulsen, Iaquinta, Mellberg, and so on are not known to be injury prone from what i know, so it does seem something within our training regime is probably putting too much pressure on our players. I agree with raul duke, it's not as if suddently Agricola has lost his ability as a physician, that seems very unlikely. What is likely is that Ranieri's methods are probably too strenuous and/or the players' training schedule does not allow them to recuperate enough.

Fractured rib for Camoranesi

This was announced at the end of the afternoon training session which saw the participation of nearly all of the bianconeri except for Buffon, Chiellini, Legrottaglie, Sissoko and Amauri who worked in the gym. The diagnosis for Camoranesi showed a fracture to the ninth left rib suffered during the encounter which forced him to leave the field a few minutes into the second half of the match in London. This was confirmed by the x-ray which the midfielder underwent in the early afternoon. The Juventus midfielder, who will have to rest for a few weeks was also diagnosed with a strain to the right thigh.

Mr Ranieri received this news on the side-line of the field directly from the head of the medical staff, Dr. Agricola, after having taken care of the training session in preparation for Saturday’s match against Napoli. Mellberg, Del Piero, Nedved, Tiago and Molinaro took part in the warm-up on the field and afterwards continued their work in the gym. All the others, including Knezevic, Zebina and Salihamidzic practiced juggling in twos and a five-a-side mini-match with Ekdal as joker.

On Friday 27th February, coach Claudio Ranieri will meet the press in a press conference on the eve of the match between Juventus and Napoli. The press conference will begin at 13:00hrs in the press room at the Juventus Center in Vinovo in via Stupinigi 182.

Medical up-date: Amauri, Manninger and Trezeguet injured

During yesterday’s training session, Amauri suffered a lesion to the proximal tendon of the femoral rectum of the right thigh as shown from the x-ray and nuclear magnetic resonance tests undergone. The recovery period prior to a return to training is envisaged to be between 30 and 35 days.

Also, Manninger suffered a muscular injury of the first degree to the internal cuff of the right calf. The period of recovery envisaged is that of about 20 days.

David Trezeguet has been halted by muscle strain to the right thigh and will therefore be unavailable for tomorrow’s match. This injury was diagnosed clinically. (ill bet Ranieri bunched him after the comment)

I am thinking that too Steph, its not too paranoid to think that IMO. His injury is the vague muscle strain, that is undetermined how long it will take, meaning he can recover any second he is in Ranieri's good graces again.

That's right. The "clinically diagnosed" tag gave it away. Meanwhile Trezeguet apparently stated that he did start to feel a bit of a muscular fatigue on Thursday but that it was Ranieri's and the medical staff's decision not to call him up. Ranieri had another story. According to him, "the check-up was inconclusive but Trezeguet claimed he was in pain, and we believe him".

Riiiight.

Bit too childish stuff.

Though I wouldnt be suprised if this was true, I still doubt it a little, that we would willingly not call up someone who that good to come off the bench and help us if we are in a tight pinch, considering we will only have 2 senior players on the bench, rest primaveras.

It would make more sense to "disciplin" him when we dont have 12 other more real injuries.
