Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes his title winners are light years ahead of the rest of the Premiership - and no amount of money spent by their rivals will change the fact.

Ferguson has watched on in the summer as chief title challengers Arsenal, Leeds and Chelsea have dug deep into their pockets to strengthen their squads in a bid to end United's dominance of the domestic game.

Chelsea have led the way by forking out almost £25million on bolstering their firepower, while Leeds and Arsenal have also shelled out £7million on new recruits with more big-money signings imminent.

But Fergie, who has dipped into the transfer market only to bring in France keeper Fabien Barthez for £7.8million, is unconcerned and feels his current crop of players remain peerless.

"One team could decide - we've got to beat United at any cost and spend £100 million.

"But looking at the structure of this club and the youth levels here, we have every chance of being in front of them anyway. That's the challenge.

"This team is quite capable of maintaining its own momentum, regardless of what others are doing."

United strolled to their sixth Premier League title in the last eight years in May and their winning margin of 18 points was a record.

Throw in the World Club Championship triumph in Tokyo and it's easy to see why Fergie remains so confident.

"Last season was a very good one," Ferguson added.

"The one part everyone seems to miss is that winning the World Club Championship in Tokyo was an amazing feat.

"That, apart from winning the Premier League by a record number of points, was a tremendous achievement.

"And most people would say we were very unlucky to go out in the quarter-final of the European Cup," he told the Daily Mirror.

In scenes that astounded visitors to Newmarket racecourse yesterday. Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of Manchester United football club, was arrested after he was found copulating with one of the folde's of his racehorse 'Cheating Tossers'. Found with his pants around his ankles, singing "We are the champions" in a monotonous cycle, while he 'worried' the animal, by a handler for a competitors mare. A drunken Sir Alex began shouting obscene comments at the handler upon discovery, and subsequently attacked him.

The commotion soon began attracting the attention of race goers, and the employees meant to provide more 'mundane' entertainment. As the crowd watched Sir Alex writhing around on the ground screaming "I am Jesus, suck my bobo daddy, I am jesus", police began convening on the scene. Soon, a mud slicked nude sir Alex was being led away in handcuffs. The handler who first found him told us "He just came at me, I could see the white of his eyes, my god, I have never seen something so disgusting. I always thought he was an animal, but I never new he phucked them"

Sir Alex was later charged animal abuse, assault, creating a disturbance, and littering.

Don't expect Man Utd to finish that clear ahead of the other teams again this season. :(

Sir Alex is too confident.
Last season they were lucky a few times....And they still did not have a great season..no matter what Alex said.
They were eliminated by REAL...who had young team...in final stages of Champions League...

They did not buy new faces...Team is the same for years...boring
