Houllier praises Liverpool players after Cup win
tribalfootball.com - January 5, 2004

Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier was full of praise for his players after yesterday's 2-0 win over Yeovil Town.
Emile Heskey came off the bench to fire Liverpool's opener after 69 minutes at Huish Park, Danny Murphy sealing victory with a penalty after Harry Kewell had been brought down in the box.

"They gave us a very hard game. They had a lot of energy and we had a bit of luck at times," said Houllier.

"But we had the right attitude. We knew we had to be extremely committed and showed we can defend together. We were extremely professional, focused, composed and disciplined.

"In the second-half they got tired and we were able to pass the ball better. I am pleased with the result because I understand why they are called giant-killers.

"I knew if we finished the first half 0-0 we would come stronger in the second-half, that is the difference between the divisions."
