Eyal Berkovic played in City's last season match, so don't worry.

Benarbia and Berkovic play on different sides and work excellently together. Only is something really gets screwed up Berkovic will not play next season.

I think his injury is done and im pretty sure that Berkovic will have a pretty healthy and successful season with Man City in the EPL. Im not sure how good they will go, but Man City has made a fantastic team and are hunting down some players that are big namers........ :) Success is coming on the footsteps of Man City and it looks good :)

Good coach, Good players and a new stadium!

What more can u expect, ya wankers :fero:

Yeah he played for the last half hour but he definately wasn't fit!!!Looked about a stone over weight and was just jogging around.I think that he just wanted to play a part in the celebrations!!
Hopefully he will be less injury prone next season, and I don't think you can associate any of his injuries to not warming up properly.City have a specialist fitness coach from South America and are considered to be one of the fittest teams around, something that helped us to continue winning when we had a player sent off in so many games last season.
Keegan is certainly planning for next season with Eyal in mind, looking to sign a 'ball winning' midfielder to play alongside Eyal and Ali Benarbia, with Marc Vivien Foe of Lyon the latest name linked.

The thing that i look forward for Manchest City is that eventhough they got promoted, i see them as a determined team. They got all the necessities they need. They got 2 excellent players playing side by side (Berko and Ali) and they are in the hunt for more players, not to mention the great coach they have and the future stadium!

I think this is one of the best Manchester City teams ever created for the past....maybe....35-40 years?!?!?!? :D

Agree with you to a certain extent-it's certainly the best team and management set-up I've seen at City in over 20 years. Also Stuart Pearce has just signed a coaching contract at City, with Keegan stating that Pearce could eventually take over from him as manager.Pearce and his undoubted passion and commitment can only be of benefit to the team.
As they say-the future's bright;)

City on Anelka alert
Thursday, 16 May 2002

TARGET: Nicolas Anelka
KEVIN KEEGAN will put on hold his move for Argentinian wonder kid Mattias Vicente Vuoso until it is clear whether or not Nicolas Anelka has a future at Liverpool.

The Blues boss is ready to blow Manchester City’s existing transfer record to smithereens to entice the enigmatic Frenchman to Maine Road.

Keegan has always promised he would pitch for the best should they become available and the First Division champions’ top brass have already given him their blessing to make a £13m bid for Anelka should Liverpool’s interest fade.

The board would not baulk, either, at the £30,000 per week wages demanded by a man who even at such a young age has graced many of Europe’s top stages including Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Anfield boss Gerard Houllier has already reportedly persuaded Anelka to accept a 50 per cent pay cut from a demanded £60,000 but he is still undecided whether or not to make the 23-year-old star’s stay a permanent one.

Keegan, meanwhile, has only just finished negotiating a deal with Anelka’s club Paris St Germain for Sylvain Distin and the fact that PSG ace Ali Benarbia is also already settled at City could help persuade Anelka to hitch his talents to Keegan’s Blue revolution.

Anelka joined Liverpool on loan last December and helped them into second spot in the Premiership scoring four times in 13 starts.

Challenge

He has repeatedly said he wanted to stay at Anfield but playing under Keegan in a team geared to his vibrant talents might be the challenge he needs and wants. Keegan’s legendary man-management skills appear to be ready made for Anelka whose temperament has been called to question in the past.

A fee of £13m would more than double the record-busting £5m spent on bringing Jon Macken from Preston and signal the Blues’ intentions not to be makeweights in the Premiership and instead press for a place in the top six or seven in their first season back.

It would, however, represent a bargain for a world-class striker who has twice been sold for more than £20m.

Anelka shot to fame with the Gunners in their double-winning season of 1998 but was axed from the France World Cup squad that summer.

He misses out again in Japan and Korea where Djibril Cisse of Auxerre has been preferred.

Despite being a protégé of Highbury boss Arsene Wenger, Anelka endured an acrimonious £23m split from Arsenal, and after a Champions League winning season with Real Madrid, moved back to PSG for £22m.

He was a member of the European Championship-winning French squad before a fall out with PSG coach Luis Fernandez led to his loan move to Merseyside.

City should know more by the weekend and it is then that they will decide whether or not to move for Independiente’s £4m-rated 21-year-old Vuoso, who is a friend and former strike partner of Manchester United’s Diego Forlan, who is enjoying life at Old Trafford.

Keegan has not expressed any interest in Bordeaux’s French international midfielder Christophe Dugarry.

Ali,

sounds great that Man City is still in some hot pursuit of players. Especially from Argentina! :) I hope that by August, and come the exhibition games. Man city will be up for the challenge and ready for whatever is to come there way.

In total i think that they are very promising team indeed, and more promisiing in the days/weeks ahead.

For Eyal, i see him having a very successful carrer with Man City. Coach Keegan has taken him in his wing and i hope the relationship with them won't get sour, but instead fruitful when there in the EPL. Since Berkovic does have the experience and necesities to play in such a competitive leauge.

I see him in Man city for quite some time. As many heard, Eyal wants to end his carrer here. Even though he is 30, and has 2 more years on his contract i think that he will play with City and extend his contract for another few years onward and perhaps play with another team, one possibly in Spain or France, before he is in his mid 30's and ready to play for his boyhood club; Maccabi Haifa! Eyal can offically say he had a very successful carrer indeed?

:proud:

I can't see Fowler leaving Leeds so soon.We seem to be linked with every player there is at the moment, yet only goalkeeper Peter Shmeicel and a young Danish defender(Bischoff) have signed. It is certain that we will sign more players soon but a lot of the speculation is just 'paper' talk and until they've actually signed contracts with us I'm a little bit sceptical about all the names being mentioned. So far we've had Davids,Effenberg,Bergkamp,Dani,Distin,Foe,Keane(Robbie)Vuoso, Biscan,Barmby,A Smith,Cole and Yorke to name a few!!!!!! Admittingly I would take any of these but until I see them at Maine Rd I won't believe the majority.

I just think that for real he has alot of success, because one of Eyal's most glorious things is having a coach who is ideal and supportive of him. Eyal is a good player and i can gurantee you, he will be good once he is in the premeir. But the fact of the matter is, that if the Coach would mock had spat at him, i think it wouldn't be very successful. On top of that, having a fan base in the club who doesn't even support him and would go as far as booin him everytime he had the ball.

it was really sad....

luckily after the next season is done, Berkovic will sign maybe a 1 or 2 year deal with City.. :) im pretty sure of that! :)

Whats the longest time, Man City have been in the premeirs?
