Black Cats test for Everton
Mon 10 Jan, 2:52 PM

Everton have been handed a home tie with Championship promotion chasers Sunderland in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

David Moyes' side overcame a potential banana skin at Plymouth, while Sunderland dumped out Premiership outfit Crystal Palace in round three.

The two sides last met in the FA Cup in the 1978/79 campaign when Sunderland won 2-1 in the third round.

Kevin Kilbane, who moved to Everton from Sunderland in September 2003, told Sky Sports News: "I am very excited and I am looking forward to it.

"I don't know what reaction I will get. I am sure there will be a few jeers. It is a big cup tie for us and we were looking for a home tie after a tough game at Plymouth.

"Being at home we have to fancy our chances, but we would fancy our chances against any team we play. But it is extra special for me to play against Sunderland. Every team doing well in the league would expect to do well in the cup and we are no different to that."
