A win, something that we haven't been able to accomplish in our last 7 official matches, is what we simply need to bring some joy to this miserable season.

Everton is in rampant form, completely transformed from the injury ravaged side that was humiliated by Benfica earlier in this competition, hardly the ideal opponent for a completely demoralised side like ours is at the moment.

We have a weak coach, most of the players are obviously demotivated with the poor run of results, and more than that, with the catastrophic season that we're going through, in more than one sense. Our public is doing very little to help, leaving me to question what is the point of people going to a football stadium if their main aim is to jeer their own team. All summed up it seems we are on our way out of Europe.

Still, there is a little hope that the grit and talent that does exist in practically all these players can show up, so that they can show the respect for the history and class of the club they should be honoured to play for.

Here's our official line-up:

Rui Patrício
Abel - Daniel Carriço - Tonel - Grimi
Pedro Mendes
Izmailov - João Moutinho - Miguel Veloso
Yannick Djaló - Liedson

Subs: Tiago, Polga, Adrien, Pereirinha, Matías Fernández, Vukcevic, Saleiro.

Very good first 15' by Sporting taking control of the game so far.

Moutinho hits the crossbar from a freekick and Tonel wastes the rebound. Huge chance for us.

We always, especially away from home seem to lower the tempo of the match, and we're basically telling you to take one of these chances. Eventually I expect you to take one, and we'll be left kicking ourselves.

Can see this ending 1-0 to your lot, unless we change things and quicken the pace a lot more.

0-0 at HT

A very good first half by Sporting which unfortunately only lacked the most important thing - one goal. Sporting was the only team that attacked, the only team that shot at goal, we hit the crossbar and we kept Everton outside of our defensive area. All this will be worthless if we can't put at least one in the back of the net though.

Great first half by Moutinho, Djaló (he is showing to be the best option to pair Liedson upfront atm) and Izmailov, who may, or not, be doing his last game for us tonight.

FORÇA SPORTING!!!

Great save by Patrício after Yakubu wins the ball inside our box.

We have to keep the ball.
