What is an acceptable result for Euro 2008?

I seriously think if Olic is a starter, it will be three games and out, I have absolutely zero confidence in him. I honestly have more confidence in Kalinic with his 0 caps than Olic. Outside of Italy, when was the last time Olic did something when it mattered? (The England game away in the whole picture did not matter, they could have lost 100-0 and still qualified)

without friendlies the guy scored 3goals in 44games !
he has and average of 1goal every 2years !

08.06.2002 - against Italy
11.10.2003 - against Bulgaria
21.11.2007 - against England

it's funny how people are praising him after that England game and hoping that he will suddenly 'explode' - it won't happen ! that was one single goal after more than 4years !!! Bloody Krpan would have scored more !

actually if we would have played an extra defender instead of Olic, that guy would have scored more goal than him and we would have conceded less goals !

that's what I'm afraid of, Bilic will put Olic in the lineup, force him in, and Simunic will still be LB. Maybe you can get away with that against Austria and maybe even Poland, but not against the top teams

I still would like to see a 4-2-3-1

I agree. It will be very difficult for us to get through if Ivica plays a lot of minutes.
If Olic was in the first 11... would it not suggest that Croatia's approach and priority would become "Defense First"... as opposed to the attacking style of play they've demonstrated over the last couple of years?

I've always liked the wheels and energy Olic would demonstrate in a substitution role... but that's about it.

Regardless who replaces Eduardo in the first 11...I hope Bilic formulates an attacking style and the boys simply go after it.

HOw's Budan been playing over the last couple of months?

If Budan does not partner Petric, then i am certain that we will not get past the group stage. I'm glad Olic scored that goal against England (which was mostly Dudu's pass anyway) but look at the other ones he missed. One goal in like 4-5 years is simply not good enough. He is fast but he lacks football intelligence. He also lacks proper passing ability, dribbling skills, and shooting skills. He basically just runs a lot. He gives a 100% but still....

Budan also scored in the last game and two the week before I believe.

I hasve been doing some thinking about this and we will have a clearer picture after we see the lads play tomorrow night. We will see what Bilić is able to get out of the players who are left and I can see Petrić being the man who will come out of eduardos shaddow and be the target man. Partner him with someone who can actually keep the ball and then pass it accurately (only Budan unfortunately) and you have a tandem capable of stinging like a bee!

i think we should give Klasnic another chance, during the Baric era he was in the form of his life but didn't play and during Cico era he probably already suffered from his kidney problems.

Klasna should definately get a look.

I dont know how he will fit into this team currently but there is only one way to actually find out.

Ivica will definately start, i'm sure of it. He's last match for the NT where he started was a MOM performance i don't see Slaven dropping his ass now with Dudu out. I got a weird feeling he will score tomorrow or do something good, this is his type of game.

It's weird, Olic IMO suits Petric the most in terms of style, all our other strikers (Budan, Klasnic) like to receive the ball deeper, while Olic will run the channels and stick with the last man, plus his our most agile forward now felt, in saying this, his still a retard.

Agreed. 100 percent. No way should this fellow remain out of any line-up. Unless of course Petric is in. A good forward rotation is necessary I believe.
Cant really complain about the choice of strikers. But some of you really believe that Olic is in the form of his life. Well I am not sold on LemonHead, like I was never completely sold on Balaban when he was in crazy form.

Klasnic while not having the greatest goal-scoring ratio, is consistent and handles alot of other parts of the game very well. Perhaps its a Werder Bremen thing.

@Ljubuski--Greece won with a speedy and strong fantastic back four that Bilic would have outrightly creamed over, given the cream puffs currently at his disposal. Further, a certain goalkeeper was straight ridiculous throughout the entire campaign.

Seems Slaven will have to be quite the Wizard to conjure up a similar result.

Klasnić is a capable striker at club level but he is not the kind of player who will make a huge impact at international level. His record in the NT is proof of that and we should not let his return from serious illness cloud our judgement.

I change my vote...I'll accept anything. We Croats are tactically clueless and that's putting it nicely. We rely on individual talent that at times comes together to form a true team. Bilic should've signed a big money contract when he had the chance.

I am ultra negative after today's result

the game was not impressive, the media isn't helping fueling this fight between Bilic and the HNS, some players need to be tested which Bilic hasn't even called up. I am getting nervous, but when we get knocked out of the groups, I won't be shocked
