mmm very interesting. At least we'll get two of our hardest games out of the way first and we might be able to spring a surprise against France or Italy before the other teams size us up.

13th October and 21st November are on my calendar cos im definately going.

If we can do it in murrayfield - am sure it can be done at hampden too :D
I think if we can come away with 3 or 4 points from the first two matches - it would be a real boost

I'd take 2 points from the first 2 games right now! A draw with those two would be a boost also for the games against the others.

If we are to qualify from the group - then I feel we really need to take advantage of playing at home, and unless we beat 1 or the other - I can see us climbing a mountian and being under pressure for the rest of the games due to having to travel to both paris and milan.

Getting these two sides early at home is probably our best chance, if any, of taking points from them. The other good thing is the team will not be completely downbeat if we do not take anything because it's not expected. It think we do need to take 3-4 points if we are to have any chance though.

Knowing the Scotland form we will beat one of those teams and lose in Lithuania.

last game v italy. i can see the script now. they need a win against the italians who have already qualified. all going well, 20th minute goal by the scots. cruising until the 81st min when italy score, then shut up shop and close the match out. another glorious scotland failure...

The Scottish Football Association site- here. For some strange reason none of the other UK sites are reporting it from what I have seen.

Del boy, Rodney and Uncle Albert?

Only joking. Everton have done well this season to come back from their early setbacks.

Although we don't have a good record of qualifying for the Euro Championship competition, compared to our World Cup qualifying record, we do at least have a decent home record. In fact we have a decent home record in all competative competitions, even under Berti.

The the 40 home matches we have played we have only lost 5 times. We have though drawn a quarter of the matches but all in all it's a decent record for a nation of our size.

Interesting to read

That was actually the first football match I ever went to. Bulgaria equalised late on. Think John Collins got our goal.

I haven't been to any I'm ashamed to say. The only Scotland games I've ever been to have been friendlies and we've never won.

I've not been to as many as I should have. The last Scotland match I was at was when we beat Sweden 1-0 at Ibrox in the qualifiers for France 98 I think. Jim Leighton was mom.
