To me this is probably the biggest match so far for UNITED in the EPL...

If we dont get maximum points from this match then its all over...

We must win and that will be very tough, especially without Keano and Becks, BUT im hoping that we come out on top...

My PREDICTION:

2-1 for UNITED!

Nistelrooy will be on an erection ;) after winning the awards and will do the job for us by scoring both goals, for Chelsea, their "flying Dutchman" will score too....

GO UNITED!

Arsenal Vs Ipswich-- Arsenal win
Liverpool Vs Derby-- Liverpool win

Looking at those two games I think it will be an easy 3 points for both clubs, but honestly I cannot see United get a result at Stamford Bridge, especially with Keane, Beckham,Veron and Johnsen out.
I think if you manage to keep Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen quiet the you are in with a chance, but I cannot see that happening so I predict a 2-0 win for Chelsea. That would also mean you will end up finishing in 3rd position which will be your lowest since the Premiership began.

On the context of the season,it doesnt get bigger than this.;)

We havent got a great record against Chelsea but what better time to set things right. We were absolutely ahmmered at Old Trafford by the Blues and the players will have that on mind when they set out on Stamford Bridge.Like Goonermc pointed out both Liverpool and Arsenal have pretty easy games at home and that makes it even more important for us to get all three points.

Luckily we didnt lose any player from the INTS being played tonight.Wes Brown, who just recoverd from an ankle injury, missed the England game after complaining of dizzyness, being hit by a ball.Apart from that the rest are fit.Keano and Becks will be sorely missed but United has to do without them for the rest of the season as well.Veron will be back for this game after receiving treatment in Rome from the Lazio doctor.:)

Fergie will probably employ the 4-5-1 formation playing Fortune on the left flank and putting Giggsy beside Ruud.Scholes will shift over to the right while Butt and Veron take up the central positions. Its sad to see Ole being wasted on the bench but nothing can be done about it.Blanc and Gaz(if Wes is injured) will have to keep a very close watch over Hasselbaink and Gudjhonnsen. Both of them are in terrific form and we cannot affordany mistakes from our backline.

Chelsea will come out all guns blazing.Their players have a tendency of rainsing their games a knot when they come up against quality opposition and it doesnt get better than United.Lampard and Petit will try to control the midfield while Stanic and Zenden provide width down the flanks. They are playing some very good football under Ranieri and it'll be very difficult to keep them from scoring.

It'll be a very open game and one where the neutrals will have a ball.A high scoring game is on the cards though I only want the result to go in our favour even if it is 1-0.:D:D

COME ON UNITED!!!!!!!!These are the games where the players have to stand up and make themselves count.:)

Veron's out?? I thought he was being rested in yesterday's Argentina friendly so that he could play for United on the weekend.

We can get a result but it will be tough. Chelsea have been on a bit of a hot streak and will have a great deal of incentive to win. But United must treat this as the most important game of the EPL season thus far.

Let's hope Barthez is OK; seems he picked up an injury during training with France.

PREDICTION:

Man U 2 - Chelsea 1

Barthez played the full 90 minutes from France yesterday and showed no signs of injury.

Veron was in Rome getting treatment for the ankle so that he'll be fit for the game.

As far as I know, both of them will start tomorrow.:)

Quite simply this game is HUGE, anything other than a win and its all over. It will be a fantastic result if we can come away with a win with so many key players missing. I don't think Fergie will risk Veron as we cannot afford him to miss the Leverkusen game.
Its very difficult to predict what shape our midfield will take, I think Fergie might start with Giggs on the right with Fortune taking the left side role. This will leave us very strong in the centre and I would fancy Scholes and Butt to dominate Petit and Lampard. I think the formation will be 4-4-2 simply because of the lack of fit midfielders.

Prediction: My head says draw although my heart will be praying for a win.

He has a great understanding with the Lazio physio and Fergie said that the physician was also very experienced with such problems.Thats why he's there. And he is not training while over in Rome.

You do have to admit though that Veron has made an awful lot of trips to Roma this season. If he get's a cold he's got to fly to the Eternal City to see his favorite physio ;)

And he always manages to end up at either Lazio's training sessions or one of their games.

He's no doubt a bit home sick. He loved his time at Lazio and has never made a secret of that. And he's quite close with Crespo. But Veron, good relationship or not, has some of the best facilities in the world at Old Trafford. And, last I checked, when you join a club you should make every effort to ingratiate yourself within it. Is he ever going to get comfortable with the United staff? If he's still carrying on like this next year, maybe he (and we) would be better served if he just went back to Roma permanently!

kin brilliant.

Excellent performance, United playing like a team, and it doesn't matter who is on the pitch and who is crocked sitting out.

4-4-1-1 worked a charm again and the quality of the goals...kin 'ell fantastic!

Chelsea didn't get a sniff, they didn't really have a single chance, a couple of Lampard shots from distance and that's about it.

We could've scored 3-4 more goals, Ruud missed a real sitter and there were a few other misses as well but at 3-0, lets not be greedy.....

Great day at the office for just about everybody, Scholes and Blanc were my Men of the match, though Giggsy and Fab were outstanding as well.

We're still in it boys.

UNITED.

We played well and now it's just a matter of winning the games we SHOULD win (no big sides coming up until the arse game), and hope for Arsenal and Liverpool to at least draw once each.
Veron didn't play, Fergie rested him for the game on wednesday (he just recovered from an achilles injury).

Outstanding result. How many other teams in the world could go into such a difficult match missing three players of the quality of Keane, Becks and Veron and get a result like that?. Apart from the first 10 minutes United controlled the game restricting Chelsea to scraps, Fergies tactics were spot on again. Now we can sit back and pray that the other results go our way this weekend.

Yeh it was a great performance and result. The goals were great and Fergie's tactics were spot on which makes Bosnich look like an idiot if he wasn't one already. But I think it will all be in vein I cannot see broing liverpool or Arsenal losing points. But we can only blame oursleves we threw it away early on in the season against teams like Bolton and West Ham at where we should have won. Even against Boro. Well we still have the CL and next year for the EPL.

Bosnich the c*nt said just before the game that Fergie was not an astute tactician.Well that [email protected] got his answer tonight.;)

Fergie brilliantly used the 4-5-1 to stifle Chelsea's midfield and also create loads of chances for us.The inclusion of Ole,Giggs and Ruud together gave the team plenty of attacking option while Butt and Scholes did a magnificent job in central midfield.:proud:

Chelsea had 80% possession for the first 15 minutes of the game but they couldnt do anything with the ball.United scored against the run of play when Scholes fired in a crisp shot from outside the area which deflected off Butt's butt(no pun intended:tongue: )and was in the back of the net before Cudicini had even time to react.United settled down after that and Ruud had a brilliant oppurtunity to make it 2-0 when he was set free by a Scholes pass, however Cudicini was up to the task and saved RVN's shot.Chelsea had just one good oppurtunity during the entire half when Lampard shot straight at Barthez from 20 yards out.The second goal couldnt have come at a more crucial time. With HT only a couple minutes away,a fantastic move involving Giggsy,Ole and Ruud led to our second.Sublime one-touches by Giggsy and Ole and a fine run by Ruud left the Chelsea defence exposed and Ruud calmly rounded Cudicini to make it 2-0.:)

In the second half, the Chelsea players looked flat and again they didnt cause much trouble.Lampard had another shot from outside the box which Barthez saved easily and that was the only threat from Chelsea.United's third came off a counter-attack.Giggs(who's sitting on 99 goals for United)could have taken a shot but instead he passed it to Ole and he rammed it into the open net, which now means both Ole and Giggs are now one away from scoring 100 goals for United.:proud::proud:

A fantastic result and a brilliant performance. The players dealt with the dodgy pitch magnificently and special praise should be saved from Blanc who kept the dangerous Jimmy quiet all day,in fact I think Jimmy went to sleep during the second half.

This sends out a strong message to our title rivals that United will not slip-up.Arsenal are already sweating about the game on 8th May and Liverpool will be cautious that there crappy style of play doesnt backfire.I just hope that both of them slip-up in the upcoming games so that we can go on to become the Champions for the fourth time in a row, beating Arsenal at Old Trafford.:D
