Charlton Athletic vs. Aston Villa

Saturday February 25, 2006
Venue: The Valley
Kick Off: 3.00pm

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Probable Line Up

Sorensen

Hughes - Ridgewell - Mellberg - Samuel

Milner - Davis - McCann - Barry

Moore - Baros

Probable Subs

Taylor, Angel, Hendrie, Gardner, Phillips
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Match Preview

Delaney has been ruled out for at least 3 weeks so Ridgewell will fill in at CB. Other than that, despite the sucky performance against Citeh, we;ll probably name an unchanged side.

We beat Charlton 1-0 earler in the season but this is a typical game you see us losing. Our away form is encouraging though this season and hopefully we can continue that.

We have a better idea of where we stand now in the league after all the games in hand being made up by other sides, we sit in 15th now and can close the gap on Charlton to 1 point with a win.

Another must win (we've been saying this practically all season) but on a personal note for me (yes Rhys, it's one of those :pp), we have to beat Charlton to get one over my bro-in-law!

yup, it is a must win considering our position. A loss would leave us right in it. We're still undefeated on the road since October which is a very good record for any Premiership side. But we have a lot of winnable games coming up so a decent run in now will give us at least a respectable league position.

I don't understand our home-away record - how can we be so bad at home?

yea it sucks. If our home form had been what its usually like we'd be top 6 at least. Losing at home to newly promoted teams like Wigan and West Ham aswell as the Middlesbroughs and Newcastles isnt acceptable. No wonder only 14k Villa fans showed up to the cup game last week. Its just been another very inconsistant season for us.
