Current Wallaby skipper George Gregan has stepped down as skipper of the ACT Brumbies ahead of the 2004 Super 12 season...with Stirling Mortlock taking over the captain's role.

Gregan recently announced that he would continue playing in 2004 following speculation over his possible retirement after the Rugby World Cup, but the move to name Mortlock as the new ACT captain has been made with the future of the team in mind.

brilliant player in my opinion...sad to see what seems to be a winding down in his career, but I guess it was always coming.

Im not sad, overated and blind. All he did was stifle attacks, plus he's a whiny little sod.Whittaker is better with a longer range of passing. And he doesnt break down attacks, but even he's abit old so i dont know who's next.
