The last match of this very poor European showing of 12/13 comes tonight and the only thing at stake for us is to try and get the first and only win in a group that had everything to be a stroll.

For our Hungarian guests this is the most important game in the history of the club since they reached the UEFA Cup final in 1985. If Paulo Sousa and Marco Caneira's team beat us and if Basel doesn't get any point from their game at Genk then they will qualify to the knock-out stages.

The main news from the list of players called by Vercauteren for this game is the presence of the promising Ricardo Esgaio who's been one of the main stars of the brilliant run by our B team at Segunda Liga. I doubt he will start but maybe he will get some playing time in the second half.

The line-up should be out very soon.

It's not clear whether the game is actually going to happen as the pitch is completely soaked after the pouring rain that has been falling in Lisbon. The refs are now checking the pitch conditions and at least it's clear that the game will not start at 21:05 as scheduled.

It's official now that the game was postponed and it will take place tomorrow at the same time.

This means that according to the regulations of our league the match with Benfica can't be played on Monday. We'll see what happens.

So the flood is over and we have the game today. Two things changed from yesterday:

Videoton can no longer qualify as Basel did it yesterday thanks to their goalless draw at Genk.

We will have one whole day less to rest and prepare for the derby on Monday, as both Liga and Benfica refused to postpone the match 24 hours as requested by Sporting. No surprise there.

The starting line-up for tonight didn't change from the one that was picked yesterday which is posted above.

At Videoton a special note for two players that were formed at Sporting in the initial line-up: Marco Caneira and Renato Neto, who is actually on loan there from us.

One last minute change in the starting line-up: André Martins got injured in the warm up before the game and Gelson started in his place.

One dubious offside against us and two dubious offsides favouring Videoton so far.

"Our" Renato Neto hits the crossbar after a good counter.

0-0 at HT

A training match with nothing new or good from our side.

I have to admit that I've liked the attitude and the speech of Vercauteren since he came to Sporting but in terms of his tactical choices I have serious doubts about him.

He may be a good coach but I fail to understand his insistence in playing with 2 DMs regardless of who we are facing. What's the point of using a player like Gelson in this game when we have Rinaudo? What the heck is doing Labyad on the pitch? Why are we playing without a forward? It's true that the attitude of most of the players hasn't been the best but if the plan is wrong from scratch it's difficult to build something meaningful.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLOOOOO!

LABYAD 1-0 at 65'

Insúa sent a missile from a long range free-kick, the keeper couldn't hold it and Labyad finished well in the rebound.

Labyad alone against the keeper let him defend for a corner.

1-1 at 80' from the spot. Rinaudo handled the ball inside the box. A silly goal on a second half that was totally ours so far.

2-1 VIOLA at 82'

A good free-kick by Capel on the right and a crazy finish by Viola.

Viola almost scored the 3rd but the keeper saved like a handballer with his feet.
