This is a great transfer for Arsenal(if it has actually happened ). Edu, who is a playmaking midfielder in the same mold as Ivan De La Pena (when he was actually good), was the standout player from the 1999 youth world championships. To quote FourFourTwo magazine, "A midfielder with the ability to dribble easily past defenders and score goals. The 19 year old with Sao Paulo has been likened to Socrates."

The 22-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder has signed a five year contract with Arsenal, according to Corinthians director Carlos Nujud and the player himself, although Arsenal have denied reports that they have signed Edu on a five-year deal for £6m.
