Report: Inter €13.5m Dzeko deal
Football Italia

Inter have agreed a €13.5m deal for Roma striker Edin Dzeko, claim Sport Mediaset, with a contract worth €4m per year.

The Bosnia international has been repeatedly linked with a move to San Siro, as he was already wanted by Antonio Conte at Chelsea last season.

According to this evening’s report from Sport Mediaset, the two clubs have agreed a transfer fee worth €13.5m, which is considerably lower than the original €20m asking price.

The 33-year-old striker had already accepted a two-year contract worth around €4m per season.

Dzeko scored 14 goals in 33 competitive games for Roma this season, but only nine of those were in Serie A.

---

The first Bosnian in the history of Inter.

Short term solution. The price is ok.

Benvenuto Edin.

I think I said it when he was rumored, but this should be a very useful signing too for you guys, especially if Lautaro turns out to be good. The quality is beyond discussion, and while it would be surprising to see him score 25+ goals or something like that at this point in his career, he is a fine target man, who will keep CBs very busy, and will score goals

He should really smooth the transition from Icardi to Lautaro, and from the look of it they could play together too in certain formations.

Inter will complete the signing of Roma striker Edin Dzeko after the player finishes his international duties with Bosnia next week, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Dzeko, 33, has agreed a three-year deal with the Nerazzurri, worth €4.5 million per season in wages, after talks over a contract extension with the capital club faded.

Antonio Conte has given the green light to sign the striker and considers Dzeko to be his ideal centre-forward both for technical qualities and experience.

Inter will pay Roma €10-12 million to sign him as well as sending a young player to the Giallorossi, although it has not yet been decided who.

Dzeko will play his final two matches of the 2018-19 season next week when Bosnia face Finland and Italy in Euro 2020 qualifying.

Following the completion of those fixtures the player will be free to sign for the Nerazzurri, who are also expected to welcome Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella in the coming weeks.

Transfer news is more hectic than ever....seems like we're trying to sign everyone and their mothers. :hmm:

Croatians, Bosnians and Serbs all on one team?

Its like the #wwe ;)
:D Sounds like we're looking to keep a strong core Croatian contingent. While a Rakitic transfer looks to be off the cards, talk is mounting about a Kovacic return (on loan).

Putting Cros on your team dramatically increases your odds of winning the CL.

As Ante notes (all over the place :) ), teams with Croatian players have won the CL the last 7 years running.

Dzeko said he's leaving Roma'
Football Italia

Bosnia-Herzegovina CT Robert Prosinecki has confessed that Edin Dzeko told him he would ‘probably’ leave Roma for another Italian club.

Dzeko has been heavily linked with a switch to Inter this summer and left the door to a departure from Roma after Bosnia’s 2-1 defeat to Italy on Tuesday.

“I talked to both of them,” Prosinecki told CalcioNapoli24, also referring to Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

“Pjanic will stay at Juve, whereas Dzeko told me, ‘I’m leaving,’ probably for another Italian team.”

Roma ready for Dzeko to Inter
Football Italia

Roma have reportedly agreed to sell Edin Dzeko to Inter in exchange for €10m cash plus youth team striker Edoardo Vergani.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the two clubs are close to finally working out the details of this transfer, giving Antonio Conte the centre-forward he has been pushing for.

Vergani is an 18-year-old striker who had been proposed to Sassuolo as part of the €25m deal for midfielder Stefano Sensi.

Instead, it’s suggested Sassuolo will accept a different Inter youth team player – 19-year-old centre-forward Andrea Adorante – in that particular transfer.

---

Can't complain about 10mill + a youth player who wouldn't play under Conte. Good deal.

Vergani ruins Dzeko deal for Inter?
Football Italia

Inter’s deal to purchase Edin Dzeko is in danger after reports Edoardo Vergani refused a transfer to Roma in exchange.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the on-going negotiations for the striker took another strange twist after youth team player Vergani rejected a move to the Stadio Olimpico.

He was fairly low down the list of players Roma had asked for as part of this deal, but for one reason or another, all of them were ruled out.

Now 18-year-old centre-forward Vergani seems to be intent on either Sassuolo or Fiorentina, claim FCInter1908.it, where he believes he’d get a lot more playing time.

Inter are now left with €10m cash and still no player to give Roma in exchange for Dzeko.

---

Hmm it's not much of an issue. How much is that Vergani guy worth anyway? 2-3mill? Give Roma 13mill and get it over with..

Inter Wont Give In To Roma’s Dzeko Demands – Could Sign On A Free Transfer Next Summer

Inter refuse to give in to Roma’s high price tag on Bosnian international striker Edin Dzeko and are prepared to wait one season to sign him on a free transfer, when his current deal with the Giallorossi expires next summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio who reports that Dzeko will play for Inter, it is only a matter of time before he pulls on a black and blue shirt.

This because there is already a deal in place between Inter and the former Manchester City player, a deal that both parties intend to keep.

The Giallorossi are asking for more money in order to be able to find a replacement for Dzeko and the club find themselves in a stronger position after having been able to fulfill the capital gains requirement by June 30.

But Inter remain convinced that they will not pay an inflated transfer fee to sign Dzeko

Looks like Conte will start pre-season training with 1 striker only: Icardi. Pinamonti off to Genoa officially and Lautaro will join later due to Copa America, and no striker signed yet. I guess Salcedo and Colidio will be there for the first couple of friendlies or so.

Icardi can't possibly train with the first team.

This would be preposterous. His Juve transfer (pukes slightly in mouth) needs to be sped up. At this stage I'd take 50 million....

So you'd be happy to give Icardi a valid reason to rescind the contract and leave for free?

I disagree, Icardi should be treated as a member of the squad until he's out.

Nax this isn't some Swedish bureaucrat in a 9 to 5 desk job in Uppsala. Footballers can't just rescind their contracts when they feel like it due to some made-up industrial infraction.

Inter removed his captaincy - which they were fully justified in doing since his attitude on the pitch was appalling and his agent was trying to undermine the club's authority - and Icardi then refused to perform the duties contained in his contract despite being paid vast amounts of money to do so.

If anyone should be suing for damages it is Inter.

Icardi violated the agreement in his work contract, not the other way round.

Anyway, all indicators point to Icardi training alone in Switzerland, so it is a moot point.
