Bert van Marwijk is our new coach.
Happy?

Denmark, France and Peru are Australia's opponents. A draw against Peru and two losses to be par for the course?

- Fred Rutten has left the UAE and is Maccabi Haifa's manager for the next 18 months.
- Jos Luhukay got the job at Sheffield Wednesday three weeks ago.
Have to mention any kind of success abroad :pp after all the sackings in the autumn

Yes... he's a pretty well credentialed coach, right? Some posters in the 442 forum were saying he's even better than Hiddink. But he doesn't have long to work with the team. Though, he will have some understanding of how they play after guiding the Saudis through the qualifiers.

Well this Australian team definitely isn't as strong as the 2006 version, with Viduka, Kewell , Bresciano etc etc. and the Danes look a lot stronger than the team who got eliminated by Japan in 2010. So yeah my hopes aren't great. Hopefully Mooy has a great WC.

Clarence Seedorf got the job at Deportivo La Coruna. They´re 3 points from safety, so not an impossible job. Depor have La Liga's worst defence though.

Seedorf is the new manager of the Cameroon NT

There are some rumors in the US soccer circles that van Gaal has turned down the chance to coach the USNT

Yeah, nice for Seedorf. Kluivert will be his assistant. Seedorf needs to stick around though. He hasn´t lasted for more than a few months in all of his previous jobs.

Van Gaal mentioned last night that he turned down a really good offer, but didn't say from where it was. Guess it was the US then.

Yeah, just wondering, any chance that American sides will be allowed into the Copa Libertadores?
Mexican sides are allowed to participate in it.

In other news, Peter Bosz is rumoured to be Bayer Leverkusen's top candidate for taking over from Heiko Herrlich, who still is their manager though.

There have been discussions recently, but it looks unlikely to happen, travel would be a nightmare (though I fear that's not the main reason)...marketing wise, the MLS want stronger ties to Mexico to try to entice that segment of the population to watch more MLS; they set up the Champeones Cup (essentially a SuperCup between MLS/Liga MX champs) and an all-star game against Liga MX XI. This is also why they are pushing hard to sign Mexican players too but despite all this they aren't drawing the eyeballs of the Mex-American community
