Glenn Hoddle has finally acquired the services of make Aston Villa's Mark Draper in a £1.5million deal.
The 29-year-old has been training with the Saints' squad for some time, but the move was put on hold after a disagreement over the fee.

That problem has now been resolved much to the delight of Glenn Hoddle, who said: "Mark is a quality player who will give us extra craft in midfield and will bring with him plenty of experience."

The former Leicester man, who cost Villa £3.25m five years ago, is also pleased that his future has been resolved, saying: "It has gone on for a few weeks now but that is what happens sometimes. Now I am just looking forward to getting back playing and training hard for Southampton.

"Glenn Hoddle is one of the top managers. You have got to have respect for what he has achieved, both as a player and a manager. If someone like him is interested in you, you are also interested."

Draper made just one appearance for the Villans last season, before spending most of the intervening period on loan at Rayo Vallecano.
