How come Shevchenko of Milan has not been banned like Bobby Carlos was in last seasons European cup? Apparently he head-butted Materezzi of Inter, but they said the linesman never saw it and hence no action.
When Carlos was cited, they used video-evidence to prove this in the game against Bayern. What is so different now?
Both were never seen in the game but for Carlos they dragged us threw the dirt, it is simply because we are more high-profile or a German influence in UEFA so he could not play the second leg?

We can't have Uefa's reigning European Footballer of the Year handed a three-match ban that would rule him out for the rest of the tournament, can we? :rollani:

It happened inside two mins. The assistant didn't raise the flag and on top of that Merk re-confirmed from the assistant whether it was a foul to which he declined. Furthermore Merk didn't put Sheva as an offender in his report. And finally, Materazzi the thug has the reputation that doesn't help matters while Sheva doesn't have a reputation like that. Materazzi kneed Sheva's balls in the semi-final two seasons ago and hit him multiple times in that game but was let off the hook.

This is football. Some things/calls go your way while others don't.

IMO... it has nothing to do with us... I can't relate this to the Carlos incident after all...

(Sheva should have been dealt with, but his good image helps unlike Materrazi.)

What does repuation have to do with it, its an incident so you have to deal with it

The assistant ref, ref, video replay official have the same verdict and it is passed. It happened in the first 2 mins and that helped. Inter Ultras acting in the way they did helped. Materazzi should've been red carded two seasons ago for what he was doing to Sheva, nutting him not once but twice. None of the Interisti opened a thread for this purpose and not a thread was opened in 2003. I don't see why it is a cause for concern for you Tony. :)

Yes but that is my opinion. The final say goes to the UEFA disciplinary committee.
