Some weeks ago or just some days ago we heard the usual, "Redondo will come back" and now we have got the usual "He needs an new operation".

Anyway according to the official site, which I doubt in this case it says this:

MILANELLO - Club doctor Rodolfo Tavana speaks to the Milan Channel about Redondo: 'The Argentinian feels not well, as Meersseman said. In these days we analyzed his situation and we looked for explanations. We have also decided to ask two specialists for help. The player will be examined first tomorrow and than next Monday or Tuesday. We still don't know if he has to undergo another operation, we wait for further data to give a solution'..

It seems like it is hope, but as I said, I doubt it.

Has he had an single training session with Milan yet?

POSSIBLE NEW SURGERY FOR REDONDO
By Alex

It was expected to be the season to finally see Argentine midfielder Fernando Redondo to play with AC Milan, after two years full of injuries. On the contrary the medical tests the player underwent as soon as he came back to Milano for the summer retreat of his squad showed he is still suffering important problems.

Now the club's doctors will proceed to new, deeper, examinations, especially on that right knee already operated to the cross ligament.

"We'll meet professor Martens, then professor Saillant to hear their opinion about the condition of the player. Just after these talks we'll know if Fernando needs a new surgery" AC Milan's spokesman said.

It could be the fourth operation for the former Real Madrid ace, and this could persuade the player to hang up boots.

Redondo joined AC Milan in August 2000 but he got immediately injured during a training and he never played a minute with the Italian club. In the past season he decided by his own to reject his yearly wage.

This is really a sad sick ****ing joke!

We got this guy and every year we hear Galliani say he will be back and is our key signing, and yet everytime he is "back", all of a sudden he gets injured

NANDO RETIRE!

Why didn't they check Redondo to c whether he required a new surgery earlier on? It is always arnd this time when Redondo was said to be fine and was ready to join the squad that the bad news arrived.

Like the threat of damnation for Christians, it seems that they pull out the Redondo card whenever things get hot and bothered in Milan-land. In that, I guess he is quite useful to have around. Well, quite a bit more useful than he has been on the pitch. Fans angry with the transfer campaign in 2001? Flash 'em that Redondo card and buy yourself some time. Fans restless with poor performances? You know what to announce, right? Yep, "Redondo will be training with the team soon." Worried that the fans might not be thrilled with the scuppering of a legendary Milan performer of the past? C'mon you all know what was coming, right? In that, you could say that Redondo has been MVP for his entire "tenure" with Milan! They will have to keep him around for that day that might be coming when we get neither Nesta nor Cannavaro...

Actually i am not worried abt this news that Redondo might be needing another operation. . I never expected him to come to Milan again in the 1st place. The thing which has been worrying me is our mis management. How many times Galliani has said that "Redondo will be joining us this season and blah..blah"? Its bull s**t. why can't he make sure the situation before making such announcements. Creats a lot of confusion and bad will among players' confidence, not to mention what the fans make of this.:fero: .

And what will Redondo do should angels descend from heaven and he plays? This guy will not be a savior for Milan. When was the last time he played a competitive match? At best, he'll warm the bench.

RIO, you are probably right. Milan just have nothing better to report as we are bottom fishing in the transfer market as Inter, Roma, and Juve line up some attractive players.

I'm prepared for another poor season where we'll wrestle for 4th and will commit our hopes to advancing through the CL (but forget that too). I agree that we shouldn't spend so much that we end up like Fiorentina but talent costs money, and Milan ain't spending any!

"OPTIMISTIC ABOUT REDONDO
08 July 2002 15:53

PARIS - Fernando Redondo doesn't require further surgery. The Argentian was seen this afternoon by professor Saillant whose diagnosis was the same of professor Martens' who examined the player few days ago in Antwerp.
Both specialists are optimistic but are still waiting for further tests the player must endure in the next days "

Redondo gets green light

Milan star Fernando Redondo has been told that he does not need a fourth knee operation.

The Argentine has seen renowned knee specialists Professor Martens and Professor Saillant in the last few days who have given him the all clear for now.

The playmaker has yet to play for the club since his transfer from Real Madrid two years ago after continuing injury problems.

Despite going under the knife on numerous occasions in the past 24 months, there were still concerns over the midfielder’s knee.

But Redondo should now be able to continue with pre-season training in a bid to finally perform for the Rossoneri after his £10m switch in the summer of 2000.

Some reports claimed that should the former international require a further operation then he will quit the game

And the story goes on...........

Redondo Could Be Back In Two Or Three Months

07/23/2002. Fernando Redondo is continuing his recovery from a career threatening knee injury and the latest news is that he may be back in two or three months.

"For the moment he is carrying out physical exercises, without the football," said Milan spokesman Vittorio Mentana. "In the last two weeks, he lost 7 kilos and he's trying to reach his best shape."

The Argentine is yet to play a game for Milan since his move from Real Madrid.
