Kaiserslautern have confirmed that they expect French international Youri Djorkaeff to return to the club after the summer, unless he returns with news of a huge transfer deal.

Djorkaeff had said that he would hold talks with Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich during the close season, with a view to securing a permanent move.

However, Kaiserslautern chairman Jurgen Friedrich has always said that he would be unwilling to sell Djorkaeff, and is determined that Djorkaeff sees out the one year that he has remaining on his contract with the club.

"After his holiday in Greece, Youri will return to training as usual," stated Kaiserslautern coach Otto Rehhagel. "But you never know, if Youri arrives with an outstanding offer, that could change."
