ACCORDING to reports emanating in Italy, Lazio will
use new signing Claudio Lopez as bait to lure
Barcelona's Rivaldo to the Stadio Olimpico.

But, the deal would only be completed if the Catalan
giants appointed current Valencia coach Hector
Cuper as their new boss.

Lazio are desperate to land Rivaldo, a player they
have been chasing for over six months, but it would still be a major surprise if
they would be willing to offer a player that has not even pulled on a Sky Blue
shirt in a competitive game.

Lopez was the leading light in Valencia's side last season, which saw them
make the Champions League Cup final for the first time in their history and
despite the fact that the Argentinian striker has already signed for Lazio, he
could still be persuaded to link up again with Cuper if his former mentor moves to

Barca are still looking to replace Dutchman Luis Van Gaal who resigned at the
beginning of May, and Cuper, who has master-minded success at both Real
Mallorca and Valencia, is at the top of the wanted list at the Camp Nou.

Cuper is regarded as the best coach in Spain at the moment, and Barcelona
recognise this, but out-going President Josep Luiz Nunez will have a major job in
trying to prize the Argentinian away from the Mestella Stadium.

i hope this news is false because i really want to see lopez in lazio next year. i think cragnotti is to obsessed with rivaldo.

do you guys think we need him at all?

If they swap Lopez, they will be making the biggest mistake ever. Second to Signori that is.

This rumour comes as no surprise since Lazio shut down the Veron rumour now they are looking for a new rumour. Rivaldo and Lopez both play to the left but Cragnotti has said on occasions that Lopez is his dream together with Vieri and Veron.

Veron serving Lopez and Crespo would be my dream - or Veron serving Lopez and Salas .. it´s about the same to me.

Forza Juan Sebastian Veron !!
