I'm sure they do every time they sit down to negotiate that sponsorship deal. If anything it should be Gazprom thanking Zenit. Outside of Europe and the former soviet republics, Gazprom is virtually unknown. Now that Zenith made it to the finals with Gazprom written all over their shirts more people will at least recognize the brand name around the world.
It's strange though.
Schalke also are sponsored by Gazprom and they've hardly spent a penny despite having one of the biggest sponsorship deals in Europe.

How will Uefa do btw?Zenit is qualified for champions league next season, schalke is on his way......same sponsor can not play both in the same competition.

And Paraiso Gazprom is well knowed in europe and in the world, number one gas companie.

Gazprom was always Gazprom...sponsor zenit since a long time because the headquarters are in st.petersburg.
Of course Sibneft and Gazprom are different beings but zoric's mistake can be forgiven, because Gazprom have bought Sibneft than merged it into own structures, so technically Sibneft is now Gazprom. :)
PS. Gazprom is not only sponsor, it is owner of Zenit (to be more precise, their affiliate bank - Gazprombank).

So far in Russia, yesd though is more difficult to work in a national team then in a club.
Look what Guus did with PSV though.

Guus has a better record in the transfer market and I feel is better when it comes to handling and motivating his player. Dick on the other hand is a lot tougher and produces sides that are solid but score goals.

Hiddink > Advocaat

-Hiddink has much more success in his career.
-Hiddink handles the media way better.
-Hiddink can make any team perform above their level, Advocaat can only perform with good players and money.
-Hiddink has ethics, Advocaat ditched Australia NT for money in Russia.

Well Zenit»Australia....Advocaat will only go coach Australia nt for money.

Hiddink is clueless about russian football and the rus nt job is more harder then a club in Russia,he may have done a good job in a rus club but not in the nt.

Hiddink is up against something entirely different in Russia. No one in Japan or Australia bothered him at all, no pressure there. Despite not being a world class team the Russia job is one of the most high pressure in football.

How much did Advocaat contribute to Zenit's title?

Amazing, this guy really knows how to pull max out of the team. Would Zenit won this title even if Adovcaat was not the coach? Well, personay I think he played big part in this sucess story...

I think he can get results out of a good team but he is no wonder coach. Becoming champions with PSV and Rangers is ok but nothing out of the ordinary. He failed miserably at Monchengladbach and South Korea.

I think it's more of a sign that Russian clubs are setting their mark in Europe, with CSKA's win in mind few years ago. The money is there and they're adapting to Europe's style of play and level.

Advocaat is a great coach but in all seriousness Zenit just has a very talented team so any decent can get results with this squad. The title is mostly the work of a very talented team, Advocaat played his part but I do think Zenit could have done it with another coach as well. They have the right players to win trophies, and that is still more decisive than having the right coach.

Good, but not that great. When he was at rangers - he had a lot of money to spend, (quite a bit was wasted on players such as Tore Andre Flo), but only once was he successful in bringing european football to rangers after christmas (which incedently was around the same time he resigned).
