Parma have been handed a massive boost after Marco Di Vaio and Sebastien Frey have confirmed that they would like to stay at the club.

Both have been rumoured to be on their way out of the Tardini Stadium this summer but the pair maintain that the Gialloblu are the right club for them.

"A lot of teams are interested in me but President Stefano Tanzi has convinced me to stay here," said top scorer Di Vaio. "He’s asked me to become a symbol of this side and I’m happy to try to fulfil that role."

The Italian international is believed to be of interest to the likes of Inter, Roma and Juventus, but is confident that the Emilia side can still offer him plenty. "I have no doubts about remaining," he added.

Goalkeeper Frey (pictured), who replaced Juve bound Gigi Buffon at the club last summer, has mirrored Di Vaio’s sentiments.

"I’m honoured to have been linked with so many great sides but I have a contract here for another four years and I’m delighted to stay."

The French youngster has recently been linked with Barcelona and Arsenal amongst others.

looks good :)

I don't care about Di Vaio but Frey... oh Sebastien... :proud:
I care about Di Vaio. Two assists yesterday. :)
I care for both of 'em.
Di Vaio may miss alot of chances, but he also manage to get so many chances per game. That's a also a skill, to get goalopportunities.
The last season and a half he's amongst the top goalscorers in the league. I don't think we can replace him with somebody better.
Sure Marco has his moments but overal he is a very frustrating player. If he scores bit more of his chances I'll have no complains.

You're right on one thing though enola- he is indeed the best we can have right now.
Amo: If he would score abit more on his chances he would be the best attacker in the league :D. And I wouldn't have any complains about that either.

But really he has done exceptionally well since given the chance last winter and I see no reason at all to sell him.
Amo, Di Vaio might be frustrating and all but one thing is for sure. He has scored 17 goals and set up a bunch of others for his team mates. There are still 4 games to go and he could very well reach 20. He really is a quality player and I don't think we could replace him as easy as you might think.

No, I think Frey would be easier to replace. There are plenty of good goalkeepers out there. Landreau, Carini, Pelizzoli, Nigmatullin, Cordoba...

Obviously I want Frey to stay as well. And I think he will.
We should partner Di VAio with Hubner that would be cool
and we could get Hubner cheap and he could pass on some stuff to the young talents :)

Di Vaio and Bonazzoli must be our starters next season!
Respect to Hübner, but I don´t think he can be so succesful in a team like Parma, where the players don´t play only for him like in Piacenza.
Di Vaio willing to become a symbol is cool! Around the new team must be build! And with Frey in the goal!:)
Now I've even read on the official parma site that Frey will stay next year, so I hope they hold their word now.
Hope fully things will go our way this season in terms of transfers :)
because just in a year or 2 we will be challanging agian for the top.
And once we are there looking at this team we are building it looks like being another noice decade as we have so many youngsters
hopefully tanzi will only do the smart needed transfers
good attitude should help for the last 4 games
I think Di Vaio will be Parma's (and It's fans) first man after Canna's move. He must stay - Tanzi knows this. Frey is better than Buffon. I've heard that Juve may give Carini (and someone else) in exchange for Fabio, but I think that Frey is much better!
Great news! Forza Seba! :)

@Pisti: Great to see hungarian Parma-Fans, I am from Austria ;)
I'm firmly planting my feet on the ground. Every day there's a different story with Frey and Di Vaio either leaving or staying.

I'd like to keep them both but then Sereni should be available from Ipswich town (likely relegation candidates) if Frey wants to go. Strange how our last goalkeeper seems to be playing worse and worse for both his club and country.....

Di Vaio would be extremely difficult to replace, last night for the national team (one of the few times I've been able to see him play) he actually looked like he working harder than the midfield "grafters", true he's trying to get a plane ticket to Japan/Korea.

He may lack some of the skills of other strikers but at least he tries.

While I'm talking of strikers, didn't we buy Maccarone a few months ago?? Would be nice to have him AND Bonazzoli AND Marchionni......

I read somewhere that Trap said he will take 5 strikers to Japan, who are: Del Piero, Montella, Delvecchio, Vieri, Inzaghi!
What I don´t understand is fvcking Delvecchio!
Di Vaio must be the 5.!

And bout Maccarone: We had an option for him, but didn´t take it! :frustrat:
It looks like Barca have found a keeper, we just got to try stop Arsenal now.
I must say against Roma if we didn't have Frey, we would of been at least 5-1. He done great, not like our defence.

----------------------------------------------------------------- According to reports, Benfica goalkeeper Robert Enke has agreed terms with Barcelona and will join them at the end of the season.

Isn't Seaman supposed to play another year? And what about that Wright dude? Isn't he supposed to be good?
Wright is a good keeper, but I don't think he has been at his best, and not really been what they expected of him.
Wright has not impressed since joining from Ipswich, they want a top keeper and have been liked to a number of keepers, Arsenal are also letting go of Manninger, so that is why they are looking for another keeper
