Flamengo vice president, Walter Oaquin, has announced that Betis forward Denilson de Oliveira will play for Flamengo next season on loan.

But the player’s agent, Luiz Vianna, is not so sure about the deal that has been brokered by Betis owner Manuel Ruiz de Lopera.

Betis are trying to sell their best players before the new signings begin arriving at the Segunda División club.

Big names like Alfonso Pérez, Finidi George, Toni Prats and Denilson are far too expensive for the newly relegated club.

Denilson’s contract with Betis runs until 2004, but the club have agreed to let him go on loan to Flamengo in a bid to increase his value while looking for potential buyers.

Meanwhile, Betis and Flamengo are to sign a deal giving the Spanish club first-choice when it comes to the Brazilian club’s players.
