According to recent breaking news, DelBosque has been sacked and Riza Calimbay has been appointed as the new Besiktas TD.

I'm sad to see DelBosque go, but Riza is someone who nderstands the club and our fanbase...He knows Besiktas inside out and is respected by all Besiktas fans. He's a good TD, his success with Denizli in the UEFA cup, proves that he can do this.

Now he's faced with a daunting task, I wish him the best of luck.
I hope it all works out for Besiktas.

Its sad that they did not sack him before the winter-break. This way Riza could have more time to prepare the team untill the Malatya game. Now its the time of being patience and wait to see what Riza can do. I hope that our board will give him an honest chance and wont see him as a "temporary solution" untill summer.

Friday there will be an official statement from BJK about Bosque leaving... until then I have my fingers crossed because you never know (Ronaldo ahem ahem) Although, if it does go through: My prayers have been answered!! Tanrim sana cok sukur....

I am also sad to see Bosque go but this was bound to happen. Eventhough under Bosque BJK went through a horrible run I must say that Bosque is a stand up guy. If his coaching was as perfect as his character he could've possibly been one of the best coached the TFF ever saw. Unfortunately this was not the case and its truly a shame.

THANK YOU DEL BOSQUE... even if your coaching was not excellent your character certainly is... Hopefully other coaches will learn something from the way you handled yourself as a person. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU IN THE FUTURE and ADIOS AMIGO!

Finally a respectable TURKISH coach to direct Besiktas. Not only that.. a BESIKTASIAN will be leading the team. I think Calimbay is an excellent canditate and I am sure that he will finish off the season better than Del Bosque would have. Calimbay suits BJK perfectly and I can't wait to see him on the sidelines directing the black eagles.... Finally something good comes out of the board!

Yilmaz, if the board continue with bad managment they´ll be the ones that will leave... Honestly, they have been pretty patiance as with the rest of the fans, how many times did our fans protest the team during the games this season? It just did´nt work. One of the reasons was IMO Del Bosques lack of experience with teams like Besiktas that have limited rescourses. I hope Del Bosque good luck with his career.

Little off topic.... Hopefully Ronaldo will get some playtime and most importantly RESPECT. I'm not saying that Bosque has anything to do with it but, with this change might come changes for Ronaldo.

I feel so bad for that guy. I don't understand why Besiktas is doing what they are doing to someone who has been so loyal to the team. I was watching NTV today and they were interviewing Ronaldo.. poor guy man. He practices seperately from the team, they owe him money, they tell him they don't want him, they say that he can't play 4-4-2 (while Ronaldo himself stated that back in Brazil that is what he used to play).... so fuked up. He has been serving Besiktas for almost 3.5 years now. I want to see Ronaldo back on the pitch and for Besiktas to give him the RESPECT that he deserves.

If you guys think that Riza has a magic wand and this team will become great overnight, and that DelBosque was the problem..Man we have an issue!

The problem is that since 2002, we've been witnessing an erosion of values, Besiktas is no longer what it used to be. In the days of Seba, Gordon Milne was given a YEAR to get his act together. He was unsuccessful in his first year, but look at what happened afterwards. We won championship upon championship...

Bilgili left last year beause shit was hitting the fan. He was unable to
a) Protect Besiktas' rights against the TFF and the MHK (and we all know how they were trampled upon by the Turkish refs)
b) was involved in some wierd behind closed doors bargains, which we'll never know about because the allegations will never see the light of day.
So he used the cursing of fans as an excuse, whereas it was this same group (the Bilgili group) that hadencouraged fans to curse at Seba.

I'll say it once.
We may be witnessing one of the worst times in our history, BUT we CANNOT ALLOW THE CLUB TO TURN INTO a playground!
THe administration bought a whackload of players, for what? If they weren't going to stick by DelBosque, and if they didn't have a long term plan, what the hell were they doing?

This is not the way to run a football club.
And what saddens me is that our fanbase has become more viscious than ever before in our history. It used to be, that we were patient, now we want immediate success and are ready to gobble up anyone in our way.

No one can guarantee that Riza won't be the next victim within 3 months if he fails to succeed.

But for a club to run well, it has to have the correct management, the right kind of atmosphere, and the right people~!
If you have Jerks like Reha Muhtar in th administration, If your most valuable foreigner Ronaldo is being disrespected and belittled, if the players have no management to go to (Tayfur is not a manager, he's a player), then how do you expect success?

All these factors need to come together for success...But the administration is too busy trying to get into a sidik yarisi and show off transfers.

And what saddens me the most is that since Seba, our fanbase has changed, we no longer hold the same values that made this club great in high esteem. We prefer a president with money (Demiroren) to someone who could really work hard for this club...

Riza is a good choice...But the wrong time...
And to top it all off, if he doesn't succeed I know how he'll be booed by the same fans who are currently busy celebrating his appointment.

I dont think that Riza is a magician. Not at all, but i have not seen any progress of the team the last 6 months! Do you really think that Galatasaray is better managed by their board? Their players have not even got their salaries in 5 months, but Hagi(a unexperienced manager IMO) managed to end the first half 10 points in front of us. And even if you put in those 8 points that were stolen from us, hes team is still in the cup and 2 points in front of us. And honestly do you thing Trabzon, Gala, Fener or some of the stronger anatolian teams would fail in our UEFA group? Still, we are conceding goals like we did in our first or second game, no improvement at all.

That erousion started earlier, Rasim Kara was sacked after a year despite that the team came second, compared with our position now he was successfull! And keeping a coach who just cant deliver the goods is not allways a good think, just look at Hollier(spelling?) at Liverpool, he costed them couple of years....

But for gods sake what kind of patience do we need when players like Emre, Ibranim U., M.Dogan, Okan B., Tumer, Sergen, Juanfran, Ahmet Hassan plays in the first eleven, when are they going to play proparly? When they are 35? If this year was a year of "investment" of young players, i would at least have hope for the future, but what did Del Bosque?
