Game is on Friday and surely if ever we were going to turn the tide, it'd be then. That saying de Graafschap have surely improved from when we thrashed them in the start of the season and I'll be interested to see what this Sousa guy is like and also to see how Loovens will play against us (that is if the move is completed since it's still 50/50 as he failed his first medical yesterday!) I bet he'll suddenly have the game of his life against us :rollani: :D

But against the no. 16 of the competition when you've had the whole week to prepare for it, 3 points is a necessity also looking at the teams now so close to us too in the league.

As for changes in the team, Hofs will be back from his one game suspension so one of Ghaly and Pardo will have to sit on the bench. Kalou and Boschaart may be back too. Hopefully Castelen will get a rest too. Other than that expect the same.

Now bring us back the 3 points :fero: (for the first time in 9 games  )

Hmm, not quite sure this is the one yet Wally. :D

Obviously Feyenoord should brush this team of losers away, but this isn't Feyenoord we're talking about, it's Ruud's bunch of lost boys with the biggest airhead leading them, Ruud himself.

Still, I'll take a risk in saying that Feyenoord will win this one, Ruud will once again 'silence' his critics with a marvellous 0-1 win in injurytime by a Loovens own goal and Feyenoord will be great again! ;)

Ono and good old Leonardo are back! as is Paauwe but Kalou is still injured

Hopefully Gullit will pick midfield of Goor-Ono-Ghaly-Hofs and if it still doesn't go to plan, he can always play Leonardo :proud:, who I don't think can play a whole game, for the last 20 minutes to make a break through.

No excuses if we don't win this one even if the ref is crap.

3 points please :fero: to put us closer to Europe and Prince O in a John de Wolf avatar :proud: :D

llooks like you're the good luck charm RossoNeri Baku , as it's now 7-2 to Feyenoord with less than 10 minutes to go

Course de Graafschap are useless but no one would have expected this. According to the radio despite Rene Bot (ex Feyenoord who seems to be at the right place) and Kalezic being extremely slow defenders and also playing one on one which is madness, Kuijt and Lazovic have combined very well together up front. Even better than K2 did, the reporter said and that might be true since a lot of their success was down to Kalou's individual magic but as Kalou is now injured and a bit out of form, I reckon Gullit should keep the new striker partnership.

Just heard though that Babos just made a blunder for de Graafschaps second goal :( still I reckon that Gullit should keep him in goal. Dropping him for the next game would kill his confidence and it wasn't an important goal anyway.

Anyways really looking forward to see the highlights in a sec

1st win in 2005 !at last and Prince O , prepare yourself :lick: :D

Yes, he's done it, Dirk has made a fan! :proud:

He was brilliant again and clearly the leader of this team. Our attack was on fire last night and we could have easily scored 10 goals. Awesome goal by Castelen, Ghaly with the assist. Also great to see Lazo on fire, involved in 5 out of the 7 goals, how's that Bazman, 3 out of 3. Nice to see Ono back and involved, overall great performance by the team.

Defensively though we managed to screw up yet again from a set piece situation and the second goal, I feel bad for Babos, knowing Gullit he'll dump him for Lodewijks again.

Anyway, what made it even better was the fact that the players seemed to be relieved and genuinely happy for the team and eachother. Perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel, but let's win our next game first before I get carried away. :)

Oh and Ghaly played very well, could have scored, but that's alright, he's definately one of our biggest prospects and no doubt he'll become a big player.

Don't forget that the swallow called De Graafschap flew over too at the first day of the competition for Feyenoord and the summer, if you there was one was short and with a lot of rain afterwards. Still good result and not much seen of Gullit too. Only the two goals against were typical again.

he he, eindelijk :pp it's reallycrucial we keep him if we want to seriously make a title bid next season or let him only go for 20 million plus cos of that leadership role. We've now got a very new and young side and as one of the more senior players we got to keep him. His winners mentality is invaluable and is something players like Paauwe, Ono or any other player don't have I think except perhaps Goor.

As for the game, great attacking performance but like chivu said, not so good defensive errors. The first one was cos of Saidi. Happaned quite a few times at set pieces that he's let his direct opponent wonder around and that's something he'll have to work on. Also bearing in mind the Sporting game in 10 days time, where he'll have to really keep check of Liedson who seems to be a bit of a jack in the box. Second goal was purely down to lack of concentration imo. Babos seems to do better when he has a lot of shots to parry against in a game (like against Twente). Hope he'll improve on it.

Anyways good result, good attacking play and something to look forward to. We got something back and that is hope :proud: now lets hope the boys will really work hard and fight till the end and we might even spring a few surprises here and there.

Now time to sit back and enjoy and hope N'Kufo does what he failed to do last week! how long ago is it since we could have said that?! :D

Well it was about time we could! :D

Yeah, although I didn't want to admit it at first, Kuijt has indeed become invaluable to the team. Every time something happens, he's there to either calm things down, give another player some support and it's also obvious the team always comes first for him. He's on his way to becoming a real Feyenoord legend. I just hope I haven't jinxed him now. :pp

But I wonder, even if we manage to finish 4th, will that be sufficient to the bobo's? Will that allow Gullit to have one more year and honestly, do any of you think that it'll get significantly better with him in charge? As you may tell, I have a lot of doubts. I'd rather we bring in an experienced manager who works together with our technical staff on a longterm plan.

I think it''ll depend on how we end from the top 3. It's inevitable we'll end 4th since the gap is simply too big but if we were to now have a good run and close the gap with Ajax to lets say 4 points by the end of the season, then Gullit will have done well and his job'll be safe.

But if we end 4th , like 1 point ahead of Heerenveen who themselves are pretty inconsistant, then I think even Jorien will say "thank you Ruud, but it's time for someone else to take over".

As to whether Ruud can really make us better and turn us into championship contenders next season, I too got my doubts. He's at least trying harder here than at Chelsea or Newcastle where he like trained the team once a week before jetting off to Amsterdam for the rest of the week :D and he's talking to some of the guys at least, but these organisational blunders we keep on seeing every week makes you wonder whether he knows how to get his point across and whether we're practising hard enough on the training pitch. Maybe a strict gymleraar like Adriaanse or real technical coach in the Van Hanegem mould would be best for us.

and N'Kufo delivers :strong: now kill the bastards off ! :D

either way 1-1 now at HT, gap would close by 2 points . Not bad either. Keep it up Twente  but I want blood

They were never going to stage a comeback in the titlerace, so this is actually pretty expected. Hopefully we'll beat them in the direct confrontation and will manage to keep the pace in the upcoming weeks.

As for Koeman, he's just as clueless as Ruud is.

The marks the players got btw from Voetbal international:

----------Babos 5,5--------------

Östlund 6--Gibbs 6,5--Saidi 6--Basto 6

Castelen 6,5-Ghaly 6,5-Hofs 6-Goor 6

--------Lazovic 7--Kuijt 7,5----

not so generous are they?! but then again it was de Graafschap against us I guess

Charisteas got a 4,5 btw for his contribution today :dielaugh: even lower than Vonk :howler: and van der Vaart who starred yet again in another game of WWF today. Both got 5s.

Which is nonsense of course because if we would have defeated ADO and Twente at home, which is not so strange and we would have had 46 points now. A win at NAC next week would have put us at 49 points, while AZ and PSV are head to head next week. A win by AZ would have meant that we would have been 2 points behind PSV and 3 behind AZ with 13 games to play in which we would meet them at home.

So I don't know where you got the wisdom to say that we out of the running for the championship. We are now, but we were not 2 weeks ago.

Hmm, never saw your reply. In theory it wasn't impossible and if you'd looked a little better, you'd have seen that I didn't claim that. I just said that IMHO you weren't gonna make the comeback since A: you have a crap coach and B: AZ and PSV are both better than you are.

But I'm sure you'll enjoy the J. de Wolf avatar. :D
