Serie A Week 13 - 28/11/04 (15.00)
Sampdoria - Parma
Stadio Marassi
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be fair to suggest that most neutrals believed that both Sampdoria and Parma would have more than a combined 26 points by this juncture of the season. The Gialloblu have been stuck in the relegation zone since the start of term but the port-based club are only two points above them after 12 games.
Sampdoria are both desperate for the points but also for a goal. Walter Novellino’s side haven’t scored in Serie A for four games now – since the 2-0 win at Chievo back on October 27. Only picking up two 0-0 draws since then, against Atalanta and Cagliari, have significantly increased the pressure on their tactician. Fortunately, star striker Fabio Bazzani returns after suspension.
Parma go into the Marassi game having salvaged a point against Chievo. Despite having the young Potenza dismissed, who is subsequently suspended, they collected a 2-2 draw. Boss Silvio Baldini will be hoping that his young side can avoid defeat after stretching their unbeaten run to four games.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sampdoria (probable): Antonioli; Zenoni, Pavan, Falcone, Tonetto; Diana, Volpi, Palombo, Doni; Flachi, Bazzani
Parma (probable): Frey; Bonera, Bovo, Cannavaro, Contini; Simplicio, Bresciano; Marchionni, Morfeo, Grella; Gilardino
