"Leandro Cufre has been given a two-match ban for striking David Di Michele during Sunday’s game, while Lazio are penalised for Fascist banners among their fans.

Roma full-back Cufre was caught on camera punching Udinese man Di Michele on the chin as the pair waited for a free kick to be floated into the box.

He is not new to such a gesture, as a similar incident on Juve’s Alessandro Del Piero went unpunished due to a technicality. However, video evidence was used this time and the Argentine will be suspended for the Serie A games against Reggina and Siena.

The other Capital club was also a key figure in today’s Disciplinary Commission findings, as Lazio have again been penalised for the behaviour of their supporters.

Sunday’s clash with Livorno was always considered to be a high-risk encounter as the two sets of fans have wildly differing political stances and they clashed after the match.

But the Biancocelesti Ultra’ took their approach too far and used Fascist paraphernalia, including black flags and Swastikas.

Lazio feared they would receive a one-match ban from playing at the Olimpico, which would have come into effect for the game against Juventus, but they have been handed a £17,000 fine because “the club has taken steps to eradicate this kind of behaviour and the majority of the fans rejected the banners.”

In Serie B, Piacenza defender Antonio Bocchetti has been given a massive six-match ban for coming off the bench and punching Treviso player Galeoto during Saturday’s 3-2 victory at the Stadio Garilli.

Another nine Serie A players have been suspended for this week’s games: Aronica (Messina), Zampagna (Messina), Bresciano (Parma), Corini (Palermo), Amoroso (Bologna), Cirillo (Siena), Cordoba (Inter), Milanetto (Brescia) and Zenoni (Sampdoria)."
