Cruz to ink new Inter Milan contract
tribalfootball.com - February 17, 2006

Inter Milan are expected to sign striker Julio Cruz to a new contract today.
The Argentine's current deal expires in June and he has verbally agreed terms on a two-year contract extension.

The deal is expected to be signed this morning.

Next week, Inter chiefs are confident goalkeeper Francesco Toldo will put pen to paper on a new, three-year contract.

We should note that the deal is not definite yet and there is a emphasis that it is a verbal agreement, which in effect, does not amount to much.

I’m staying at Inter, says Cruz Tuesday 1 August, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter striker Julio Cruz has dismissed the transfer speculation surrounding him by committing his future to the Nerazzurri.

“These stories are part of the game,” stated the Argentine international on Tuesday. “They are just newspaper headlines.”

Cruz, despite recently extending his contract at the San Siro, has been associated with the likes of Juventus and Roma.

Yet the former Feyenoord and Bologna hitman is ready to remain even if his club are after a new forward.

“Inter are a squad who have the need for real champions,” added the South American. “We need great players to cope with the long season ahead of us.”

Nerazzurri owner Massimo Moratti has confirmed that he wants to net a big name striker to partner Adriano in the 2006-07 campaign.

Fiorentina and Italy ace Luca Toni is a confirmed target even if the giants seem unwilling to match the £18m asking price.

The Juventus duo of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet, following their demotion to Serie B, are also targets.

The 32-year-old Cruz initially moved to Italy in August 2000 after he left Holland for the Stadio Dall’Ara.

He remained with Bologna for three years before accepting an Internazionale switch in 2003 following the loss of Hernan Crespo to Chelsea.

Inter Milan's Cruz shrugs off exit rumours
tribalfooball.com - August 01, 2006

Inter Milan striker Julio Cruz has shrugged off the transfer speculation swirling around him.
The Argentine said: "Could I be a pawn in a swap? It's all part of the game. Inter is a team that has the need for true champions, and those that we read in the newspapers being linked here are true champions.

"We have need of great players, in order to face the long season the best we can."
