Boca Juniors

As usual a contender to win the whole thing, they have signed several players to help them achieve the unprecedented continental double (Libertadores and Sudamericana in the same year), as well as the Intercontinental Cup.

Top players and newcomers: Tevez, Barros Scheloto, Burdizo, Perea, Vargas, Iarley.

Colon de Santa Fe

A team who has been consistently tough in the Argie championship in the last few years. They have been after colombian playmaker Geovanny Hernandez to help challenge the big boys of the Argie tournament.

Top players and newcomers: Geovanny Hernandez, Adrian Martinez, Esteban Fuertes

Velez Sarsfield

Finished 2nd in the last Argie tournament, young and tough team. Have some very good players and could be darkhorse of the tournament.

Top players and newcomers: Esteban Bujan, Roberto Nanni and Federico Arias

Colon vs Velez in Santa Fe, Argentina. 09:30PM - 08/12/03

Colo and Velez face each other in the first game of this group. While Colon invested heavily in the team. Velez has not been able to acquire any major signings and even lost their strike force Roberto Nanni.

Colon beat Velez easily 3-1 with a great performance by Geovanny Hernandez and the Uruguayan Javier Delgado.

Hernandez is quickly becoming an idol of the "Sabaleros"

Colon crushed Velez 4-1 in the second leg, to win 7-2 in the aggregate. How terrible to see such a good a team as Velez was two months ago being taken apart by the officials of the club.

Colon will face Boca next and we then will see how good they really are.

In probably one of the most attractive game of the Copa Sudamericana so far. Colon and Boca juniors will face each other in what promised to be a very exciting between two of the best teams in Argentina at the moment

In a very emotional game Boca and Colon drew 1-1 in Santa Fe. Boca was the better team but missed a few scoring chances, while Colon never gave up. All to be decided on the 2nd leg to be played in Salta.
